PostBuilding a PC
by SandyCoin » Fri Oct 09, 2009 2:54 pm

Well my current PC is more or less dead. I give it at least another month before it's completely gone. So I needs me a new machine. I wanted a Mac, but cannot afford it. Shame really as the ones I've used run really well.. Anyway, my dad thinks I should get someone to build it for me, but I am not really in the know of what I would need.

So I'm hoping some of you clever people will be able to recommend me the right components etc. I have a decent monitor so that's all sorted. But I want a machine that can run Photoshop, Illustrator and other programmes like these well.

These are the only things I use that would cause any problem to a gooseberry fool machine. The rest of the time I'm just watching movies, listening to music, browsing the net etc. So I want this machine to be good for my illustration work. I don't need it to be able to play amazing games as I don't really play PC games.

Budget wise...not sure completley as my dad is paying and I will eventually pay him back if I find a job. £500 or less perhaps?

Thanks for any help.

I just ordered myself a decent Dell laptop for a fair price from www.itcsales.co.uk

They sell stuff like cancelled orders/ factory seconds and discontinued items but you can save a bomb on what companies like Dell would charge you for the same system. Might be worth checking out.
