I was unlucky, I only ever got level 129 Kingler's and level 150 Tangela's (back when I thought Tangela's were rubbish). Some of my mates were finding Squirtle's, Charmander's and other great one's. One mate of mine hit the motherload though, he constantly came across level 236 Mewtwo's. Yes, I reemember the exact level each of them were at.

What you got was somehow linked to the name you chose for yourself.

This is your problem. You choose cuteness over logic. Just like the fools who choose Charizard choose coolness
over logic.

Ah but as we have established, the fools who choose Bulbasaur choose shitness over logic, coolness and cuteness! Disaster. :(

I'd rather use Gyarados as my water-type in the team.

Water/Flying ? He gets eviscerated by electric attacks. Teach Blastoise dig and he's unstoppable.

No-one in their right mind would send a water type out against an electric type, so that scenario simply isn't going to happen. I always kept a Dugtrio in reserve for those.

If you teach Blastoise dig and ice beam he can take down any electric pokemon easily.

I shall have to go home and root out my copy. Can't remember what I called myself, probably something dirty.

Charmander easily.

Catch a Mankey on Route 22 for Brock, and a Pikachu in Viridian Forest for Misty.

The rest is all gravy.

I preferred to catch my Pikachus at the Power Plant.

I've never failed to catch a Pikachu in Viridian Forest. It's become a bit of a habit now.

I remember the first time I played Blue and came across a Pikachu so early. I spent about an hour trying to find another one and catch it.
