A case of mistaken identity, although I've had a few that could do with a bullet.

Details haven't come out as yet but neighbours reckon he was very drunk at the time. Absolutely legless.

We don't really know the details yet, but if initial reports/theories of her coming home to surprise him etc are true, then strawberry float me this is all pretty tragic and you've got to feel for the guy.

Of course, it could conspire that he just wanted to shoot the woman...

Drunk with a gun?

The lawyers are going to destroy him, he hasn't got a leg to stand on.

I'll respond to you as u are the only one not making a joke about the death of a young women.

I see this being a very lengthy case. It could well be true tat he thought she was a burglar but they will need to be absolutely sure that he didn't do it on purpose. Very sad.

Very sad. Don't know how on earth I'd begin to cope with dealing with that. He seems like such a decent bloke.

Oh, and, he really put his foot in it etc etc

Jokes aside, it's tragic. She was a fit looking thing too. And he probably loved her which makes it even worse.

This steel footed springbock thought he was going to win gold at the Olympics. Now he thinks he can pull another fast one when he gives his girlfriend a valentines present she wasn't expecting. But when cops shoot holes in his story, he finds there's only one kind of race he'll be running now..

Straight to the county jail.

I feel terrible for him actually, I don't think I could handle the guilt.

Is South Africa really that dangerous that a man with the public profile of Oscar Pistorius needs to keep a gun by his bedside?

Apparently he's been charged with her murder as well. According to some reports paramedics were called between 4am and 5am, was she coming in from a night out? Had she just nipped downstairs to get a drink or something? It's all speculation at this point but assuming he was asleep when he heard footsteps of what he thought was the burglar, didn't he realise she wasn't next to him in bed to him and think "Oh it must Reeva" or whatever.

Edit: According to police, neighbors claim they heard lots of shouting and stuff prior to the shooting.
