Religion is bullshit, please keep all talk of it (for and against) in one thread rather than trashing another.

Thanks

I'm not crying about what you're saying, I just don't think it belongs in the pictures thread.

Doubt you're really giving any chance of a case for religion, or any faith with a thread title that is fairly negative and derogatory by instantly throwing "bullshit" infront of religion.

But good luck with your thread.

The oppressed are allowed once every few years to decide which particular representatives of the oppressing class are to represent and repress them in parliament.

Do you believe in the Good Lord, Jesus Christ? Your Saviour.

Then take my name out of the topic, I don't approve of the publicity, it was not me who started the conversation. It was herbi, and then compounded by rightey, fatal and knoyleo. My posts are the tail end of it really. It's not going to help your topic having my name in it, that's an instant blip on the radar for a banning alert or a lock alert at least.

Fair enough, as I said before, I only saw the tail end.

It wasn't really a religious debate either, it was herbi attacking Gervais about posting his views in a public forum, in the same manner that religious people do, and then taking a dislike to Gervais and claiming Gervais does it exclusively, and then people piped up that he was mistaken in thinking that Gervais is being outspoken for the sake of it. It was rightly pointed out to him that Gervais is merely the responding, and not the instigating with his tweets.

Nah. Religion is fine and well - it's nothing more than allegory aimed at demonstrating an acceptable and decent moral code. A design for life, if you will, for people without common sense.

However, people who actualy believe that gooseberry fool? Pur-lease.

And now the pics/gifs thread is locked, presumably because religion is put on a pedestal, allowed special status and not allowed to be discussed in the pics/gifs thread? We've had pages of text in the pics/gifs thread without the need to lock it.

Not sure why it was locked but usually pages of text is on a non specific subject or at least related in some loose way. I don't agree with either, I don't see the point of a picture thread having sometimes just one picture per page, we have a chat room thread and now a religious bullshit one.

And in reply to the above picture, that's very true, if parents didn't force religion on their children and raise them into it, would they make their own choice to follow it? Guess you can't escape it, it's quite unfair.

It's a pictures thread.....for pictures.

I'm just locking it whilst I find some funny pictures to get us back on track.

Will a picture of a tree bring it back?

Religion is not a true moral code and cannot be used as a moral code, because it locks your morals down. As we progress we have found adhering to strict religious morals inevitably leads to evil and pain.

Religion is merely a man made product, an attempt to codify certain morals, it is not definitively a decent moral code, in fact it is an absolutely disgraceful moral code overall. Where you can find good inside a religion, it is not derived from a persons own free will, it is enforced by fearing a more powerful deity, and thus any good actions arising out of religion, is something that can be done by a non-believer out of a truly good and positive thought without a need for a religion to codify these ideas.

Anyone who needs a 2000 year old book to guide them as to what's morally right needs to take a long hard look at themselves.
