A mate got this full price digitally and he regretted it already because he finished the campaign on the highest difficulty and finished it in 3 hours. Sure he got it cos of the MP but still...

Also it's pretty clear this is DLC as the whole trophy list is listed as DLC under MW2 trophy list (at least for the PS5. The PS4 got its own trophy list.)

A very hard pass for me. I'll just wait until it hits PS plus years later (or never.)

I would expect this to turn up on Xbox Game Pass next year, and certainly by 2025 - especially if Microsoft opt to stop releasing a new COD annually but still want something noteworthy to shout about.

£70 for the DLC. Ridiculous.

135GB? So basically people are replacing the original download? Or is it somehow even bigger than 135GB?

I still remember when the new consoles were coming out, some developers said how the fast SSDs would make games shrink in size a little.

Cancelled my pre-order for this the other day. Even by recent COD standards, this one is a blatant piss-take, nor can I even muster the desire to play through the campaign.

Will probably give it a bash whenever it shows up on Game Pass in future years.

MW II has been updated with some downloadable contents and now altogether is 212.6GB. :dread: :fp:

That would be MW3, to play MW2 you have to download the update. There are a number of complaint about it overwriting MW2.

Yep, they expect me to play MW III and it did install the contents. Yet they removed MW II contents so I had to reinstall them again.

Ridiculous.

METRO: Modern Warfare 3 is the sort of minimum effort cash grab that the series has up until now always avoided.

In terms of story campaign this is the worst Call Of Duty has ever been.

VGC: A CoD. campaign has never felt more like a contractual obligation, or made because Activision didn’t think it could charge £70 for a game without it. It’s a cynical, disappointing low point for a series that used to set the bar for single-player shooter campaigns.

Sold as a pre-order bonus and given about as much thought, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3's single player offering is a short, shallow waste of time that feels less like a video game and more like a contractual obligation.

GamePro: With a well-known villain and more open missions, Sledgehammer Games wants to make MW3's solo mode appealing to us. But we enjoyed almost nothing in the campaign.

Brutal.

If they weren’t such greedy bastards they could and should have released the multiplayer standalone for 30 quid.

Not played any of the Modern Warfare reboots. But they didn't use Billy Murray as the voice of Price from what I recall. Is that still the case? Because if it is, I'm still out.

Worse than Black Ops 4?

They had a ton of copies in ASDA today, priced at £56 on all formats. Been a while since I’ve seen a supermarket giving a video game the big event treatment (while also being so competitively priced). Would have expected something for EA FC and maybe Spider Man 2 but COD has brought out the big cardboard accoutrements.

I've been quite enjoying multiplayer on this the last week or so. I can understand the gripes over it being a whole separate release, could've easily just been paid expansion but I'm happy. I normally binge it for the first few months then don't touch it again.

The new Zombies mode is great fun (although more traditional zombie players aren't happy with the change), it uses the new Warzone map, open-world with aspects of DMZ just with loads of Zombies etc. It's one of those modes where you can just sink a couple of chilled out hours without much threat over it. Although losing all your gear if the server disconnects can be a bit annoying, it's not frequent enough to be a massive problem but had it happen twice now and lost my large backpack etc.

For a second I read this as Bill Murray and got so confused that I didn't realise he could do such a convincing gruff British accent
