So they have dropped the campaign in favour of jumping on the BR bandwagon. *sigh*

I do play CoD online but I also enjoyed the campaigns they served up, no matter how silly. I've PUBG and rarely play that so I've no interest in CoD battle royale

Oh well, I guess my CoD collection ends here.

There will be some campaign like threads to the multiplayer and zombies games.
Looks interesting. I think zombies fans will be very happy.

Also there has been zero official confirmation about MW2 bring campaign only. Personally - I think it’ll be packaged with next year’s cod as that will be IW’s game.

Will be very interesting to see how it sells. If sales don’t drop substantially you can kiss goodbye to Campaign in the future.

Those zombie mode trailers  Love the amount of effort Treyarch always puts into that mode.

Taking the best bits of maps from every COD game and smashing them together into a big battle royale map is actually a really cool idea.

Remote control cars and drones in battle Royale will be a nightmare.

Exclusive to Battle.net on PC. I'm surprised it's taken Activision so long to start putting Call of Duty on that service.

That's sad. Black ops 1 campaign was great, and while most campaigns since then were either meh (BO2/AW) or garbage (BO3), IW was strawberry floating excellent. Guess that's the last campaign well see until Battle Royale gets replaced with whatever the next twitch trend is, but its sad to see SP get the chop, as someone who has played every campaign since CoD 1.

Yeah I really thought they would go back to the cold war and modern military stuff after the popularity of MW remastered. BO was really cool.

It will be interesting to see if they can pull off the frantic CoD style within a slow paced BR game mode. I still need to be convinced that it will be more than a novelty.

I can see them pulling an Overwatch and doing timed events relating to backstory for multiplayer. Zombies looks interesting from those trailers, can definitely see that being a substitute for the traditional campaign with new "chapters" (i.e maps) in new time periods advancing the story (not sure how well the gladiatorial hand-to-hand combat will work in an FPS, mind).
Still sad to see campaign dropped though, especially after stuff like Wolfenstein and God of War have proven recently that single player experiences still draw big audiences.

How well they can balance all the different elements is key to whether Blackout will be any good or not.

One thing I want to know is that every CoD has a three year development cycle, so what the heck have they've been doing for three years?

Probably working on a single player campaign, but then PUBG happened so they scrapped the campaign in favour of jumping on the BR bandwagon.

So there is going to be a season pass but no individual map packs :fp:

So that's no single player and the player base being split wth a season pass. I'd imagine loot boxes will be in there as well.

We'll see how it turns out but If anyone could butcher battle royale it'd be these clowns.
