On X1X it’s 49.3 for me and I’ve updated it including small one just now.

Cool, thanks man. Should be ready to go 8-)

Mine was 43. Blackout was available but zombies and MP were only at 40%. I've left my PS4 on rest so it should download any additional updates. I'm working tonight and tomorrow to my utter chagrin (having requested them off!).

Due to the odd pride mentality of my wife, since her nephew works for Activision Minnesota and play tested for this game she's already hooked me up with beer and snacks for tonight and will leave me be from 8pm.

Slightly hyped for this, launch day CoD's usually put me off with all the gamerbro talk but yeah I'll get stuck in tonight. I haven't raged at an online game since the last CoD so not sure I want that side of me to return. The Blackout Demo was chill AF tho.

Blackout mode seems to be getting a lot of praise

Despite working last night and tonight - ive managed to fit around 4-5 hours in so far. It's very good. The Titan may be my favourite LMG of all time.

Did they not have the Titan in IW? It was a beast in that too.

I'm enjoying it but it took me a little while to find my feet. For some reason BO 2&3 are the CoD games I didn't play and this definitely has a different feel to the IW and Sledgehammer Games versions. I really like the changes they've made to the core formula, it feels familiar but different.

Hopefully the matchmaking will improve, I had several games in which I was with a team of noobs against fairly high ranking players. That and the menus are a bit messy.

I need to qualify my previous post, TDM and All other mp modes bar BR, Heist and Zombies are AIDS. But perkless games in this are honestly amazing.

You never need to qualify it.

What don't you like it about those modes?

CoD always gives you at a weapon and a few perks that will be good regardless of level unlike Battlefield in which you unlock God guns and perks. That doesn't bother me either but as a fan of BF I'm surprised perks bother you.

The new Blackout mode is getting good reports, with some proclaiming it as being the best Battle Royale game available.

Just a question for you guys who have already picked up the game - does the standard multiplayer mode still have the option for BOTs? (Thank you!).

Yes you can add bots in an off line mode.

Mates and I played Blops 4’s full selection of MP last night and enjoyed them all bar TDM and those types, I was killed by helicopters, rockets from the sky, a dog, a remote control car and various bullshit. Battlefields Perks don’t get anywhere near that bollocks.

It was the very same reason I went off the franchise years ago. I like to let guns and accuracy be the only factors in an online shooter, lining up a sniper headshot to then die via an air strike is ridiculous. In Heist, no perks just 1 life per round and money in between rounds to buy better guns and equipment. It adds a layer of strategy to things. I believe it’s a rip off of a CS GO mode but it’s excellent. If I get killed in BR and Heist it’s becaude I was outplayed, simple, being killed by nebulous random stuff is not enjoyable.

Thanks, Red 5! In times past I probably would have dived in for this but now I'm being way more cautious about buying games. I'll be interested to see how popular Blackout becomes, though.

Yeah that's fair enough, they have definitely ramped up the kill streaks in this one compared to the last few CoD's. My first game of TDM was spawning and instantly being killed by a helicopter  . I still enjoy it as it's easy to play on your own and have fun.

The game has been unplayable today because of lag. I know playing over wi-fi isn't the ideal way to play but it shouldn't be this bad, especially in an online only game. Shocking that devs are still allowed to get away with this.

It's got split-screen?!

https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018 ... reen-quiet

Could this be abused in Blackout? If it's possible to play split-screen but not be on the same team (don't know if that is possible), you could use one half of the screen by setting up a character in a lookout position.

Or you could just use the emotes (Where it changes to third person) to peek... Idiots.

Yeah, I heard about that too. But an always-on lookout camera is a whole extra level of unfairness. (If it's possible. It probably isn't. I'm just speculating.)
