You can't play solo if you're with another player.

Splitscreen blackout is for duos or quads only

UK Charts: Physical Call of Duty launch sales lowest in 11 years

But it's the biggest digital launch in Activision's history

First weekend UK boxed sales of Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII are down almost 50% compared with last year's Call of Duty: WWII.

The sales are also down 59% compared with its direct predecessor, 2015's Black Ops III.

It's the weakest start for a boxed Call of Duty game since 2007's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

These figures only include physical units, so do not factor in sales of digital downloads - which have been increasing significantly in recent years. Indeed, Activision has since revealed that Black Ops IIII is its biggest digital day one launch ever, and that on day one 'the total number of people who connected online to play Black Ops 4 increased from last year's release'.

Another reason why retail sales are down is the ludicrous 50gb update for physical copies.

I blimmin love Blackout mode, even though I treat it like a really tense game of hide and seek (not sure if this is the way it's supposed to be played, having never played PUBG or Fortnite). Have had a decent amount of success with it too, though still no 1st place finish as yet. I can see me putting ridiculous hours into this, which I haven't done with ANY online game since Modern Warfare. Might even give the other modes a try at some point!

You sir, are the scum of the earth. You won’t win a game doing that though.

I’ve had more instances of being shot by someone camping in a building waiting behind a door in a few days of Blackout than nearly a year of PUBG! :x

PUBG on Xbox has fewer and fewer noobs, shoot at a passing car and more often than not it’ll park up and a squad will descend onto you, or even solo. You have to push at some stage to win BR’s, there’s a tiny chance rest will die in the blue but it rarely happens.

On Sunday night (in PUBG) it ended up with 2 v 1 with mate an I being the 2. Mate was convinced he was behind a hill so while he had it covered I ran around the side but he wasn't there, subsequently turned around to see him lying prone in a bush and executed him. He had the ideal opportunity to kill me but didn't, playing that hiding game tends you make you freeze up on when to actually attack, push through that fear for BR games.

Thanks, Red 5! In times past I probably would have dived in for this but now I'm being way more cautious about buying games. I'll be interested to see how popular Blackout becomes, though.

Me too. I did watch an IGN review of the Zombies portion of this game and, although the guy skipped very breezily over it (don't they all?), I'm sure he mentioned that it's now possible to play Zombies with a full AI team, although I don't think there are any progression rewards in that mode. If true - a huge disappointment. Can anyone who owns the game clarify?

You can have AI bots with you afaik. Only played Zombies once but it had an AI toggle in the options before we played.

This is strawberry floating brutal on PC. Got absolutely battered for like 6 hours straight last night.

PUBG seems like a walk in the park compared to this endless Red Bull-fuelled power rush.

My mate got shot by someone crouching in a toilet. He must have been there for ages.

Doesn't sound like a laughing matter. Is he going to be OK?

Had a gooseberry fool time with Blackout today, 5 games without a single kill. I'll stick with it but BR can be a pretty crappy experience when it doesn't go well.

It’s not possible.

I have this and would like to play the zombies mode but it's taking hours to install.

I have a Pro so that shouldn't be the problem and I've downloaded the 19gb update.

Yeah it took me about an hour to install a 6 gig patch last week. Bizarre.
