Condrey, a World of Warcraft Horde player himself, knows Orgrimmar well. The bustling cacophony of troll, undead and tauren is the seat of power for the Horde and the capital city of the orcs. It is the place Horde players go to pick up quests, to chat with other players and to dance on top of huts.

As Condrey speaks about Call of Duty: WW2's Headquarters, revealing more and more about how it works and what you can do in it, it starts to sound more and more like one of World of Warcraft's cities.

"Remember the first time you went to Orgrimmar in World of Warcraft?" Condrey says. "Remember that first time experience when you did your quest and you levelled up and you earned all these great rewards and then you walked into Orgrimmar and it was a bustling city of people with all these activities that made it a community, whether it was the guy who was just showing off his max rank, all purple mounts or people going to mail, or people gifting each other things? That sense of community was something we felt Call of Duty hadn't capitalised on yet. That's what our attempt with Headquarters is."

The trailer for the mp was HORRENDOUS. It's the same shite except now with no jetpack fuckeroonery.

Absolute Tripe. Looks like a 360 game too, how has that happened? :?

Harsh but fair. :slol:

Obviously it's peoples tastes but in terms of war based online mp, over the past 4-5years Battlefield has become more and more my type of mp and CoD less and less.

I only jumped on board Battlefield with 3, so I've played 2 in total. (hardline was rubbish).

The tank part in the trailer was laughable, escorting the tank Overwatch style, I mean jesus christ. Tanks in war bossed infantry. If you turn a street corner in B1 and see a tank your immediate reaction is FUUUUUUUUU which is how it should be. Turning that fear and visceral experience of said tank blowing you up or driving through walls to get to you into an escort style mp mission is so bad it's funny.

The engine needs to be redone from scratch, frostbite is the main reason Battlefield looks almost a generation ahead at this point.

Massive Air Superiority: The Game™

That would be really boring UNLESS they did it as a special-ops-only type of game, with you getting to be SAS and Delta Force ala Bravo Two Zero (only without the player having their teeth pulled out and being forced to eat their own gooseberry fool :dread: ).

Desert Strike :datass:

God I'd love a modern remake or continuation of the strike series. I loved soviet strike on PSone!

yeah you prefer battlefield. Why don't you say that in the Battlefield thread instead of every Cod one. It's down to personal choice. I much prefer Cod but don't feel the need to say it every time. As for looking like a 360 game?

I don't think it looks like a 360 game, but there were no "wow" moments in the trailer for me. It just looks painfully average.

The engine looks so dated, quite frankly it's a pisstake at this stage.

Is it still a heavily modded Quake 2 engine?

Just spotted that there is gonna be a "Pro Edition" that includes the ubiquitous season pass. I wonder if the "Pro" tag is gonna cause any confusion for buyers i.e. "Is this the version for the PS4 Pro?"... "No, you don't need the Pro version for the Pro..." .

Got my code for access to the PS4 beta from Amazon today but weirdly it's a 13 digit code (4-5-4) and I can't get a valid combination out of it so far. Doesn't help that I can't tell if 2 of them are zeros or O's.

No way of replying to Amazon email and Activision support page crashing.

Any ideas?

They launched it early so I've had an hour or so in it. Played war with the aforementioned tank bit. It was fun.

Guns feel nice. Couple of maps I played were good and they've removed quick scoping. All in all looks very promising.

I means it's no battlefield but then it never has been has it. Without ever suffering for it. They've always been different games with different appproaches.
It's Cod set in WW 2 with some new gameplay tweaks. So far looks like it could be a cracker.

Seeing some videos of this in action, it looks impressive compared to the modern setting.

I... Might even pre-order?

I agree, most developers this gen have moved onto new engines like Unreal Engine 4 or Frostbite while Activision seem to just keep iterating on their last gen engine.

Cool. So there's no reason for you to come in this thread again then. Your mind is made up. Great.

When it launches feel free not to pop in and tell us how much you don't like the look of it and how much better Battlefield is. :fp:
