Morning all! Bit of an early start this morning. Personal stuff I'm afraid. Extra time is better than less time, right?
Phase Five
Omnivores, you will need to elect from within your ranks a Leader. This person must be appointed, by way of the 'classic' in-thread running poll, by noon today. The chosen Leader will need to submit two names to me by PM before 1pm. These two names will thusly become your choice for your Phase Five kill. (The Leader's vote will be the deciding vote if the Phase Five kill 'election' results in a tie.)
As well as being immune from any Cannibal kills that will take place later this Phase, your Leader will obtain an important clue, which they will be trusted to share with the rest of the group.
Finally, the leader will be the person to make the decision for this Phase's question on behalf of the group. The question is as follows:
"A rummage through a wardrobe has found lots of sets of dress clothes, but inside one jacket pocket is a scribbled note, stating that some of the clothing 'works to prevent cannibalism'. Shall we try on these costumes?"
Decision by noon please, ladies and gents.

I'd be willing to stand today, if everyone's okay with that. Definitely want to put Euan up for it, and I guess one other from the "A" list (I mean, that does include me, but I know I'm not a Cannibal, which gives us a better chance at netting one)
Um, no? None of the 4 suspects for cannibal 2 can run for leader, cause they could quite easily come back with a fake clue which just so happens to incriminate one if the others. We need someone impartial and we also need another clue from cannibal 2.
Morning all, just catching up on last night's doin's and happenin's.
In the end it was right to kill Denster, I approve despite questioning the idea earlier. Jumping on the event was the final nail, we can't have that happening to us!
I put forward the idea we kill either Frank or Euan. If some of the clothes work to prevent cannibalism, I'd imagine some would promote it based on that wording so wouldn't try them on.
I would also urge that we can't have a leader who has been incriminated by one of the clues. Too easy for a cannibal to step forward and waste our time.
I'm happy with anyone else as leader on the basis that they put two from the cannibal 2 group up for the lynch. Of the four in that group, euan is the only player who has been actively contributing. Personally I think he is the least likely cannibal but that's not based on much. The others have been posting here and there but not as actively.
I will stand again if nobody else pulls their finger out...
So from that event it seems like the obvious choice to try on the clothes, which makes me worried it's a trap

Are you running then? Because I agree with that platform.
Remember, we can get a second clue for cannibal #2 this phase to help narrow down the search. Can't remember the exact timings of this, but does the leader get a clue before they decide who is up for the vote?
Also, I should say that I won't be around as much today as I was yesterday. I'll be able to pop in and vote during phase one but I won't be around for phase two at all.
I'm not sure about Euan he matches the naming but he is being very helpful with investigating and stuff and I can't see why a cannibal would do that.
I could be totally wrong but I would move to hold on lynching him and investigate the others.
I'll stand for leader on a platform of Frank and Diabolito and also play dressup. I would also get a second clue for Cannibal 2 so we can narrow the lynch candidates down and swap in Euan if it goes that way

I'd agree for the most part, but this:
euan707 wrote:Also I've refrained from saying it but thinking more in depth about it, those who are coming up with spreadsheets and the like are likely innocent, because it could completely backfire in their face by proving without doubt that they're guilty.
And I'm not just saying that cause I've got my own spreadsheet.
Almost sounds too "see I'm not suspicious I'm helping guys"

Possible, hence the inclusion of getting a second clue to narrow it right down.
Understandable, which is also why I didn't mention it sooner, but it's not as if it can be "faked". If the spreadsheet shows someone's guilt, then it can't exactly be wrong. I'd be pretty wary aa a cannibal of coming up with a document that could beyond doubt incriminate me. (Although I'd probably still do it cause I do like a good spreadsheet).
Last night, Errkal and Denster discovered the beautifully ornate Chapel. It seems strange for an old house like this to have its own Chapel - perhaps a sign that we're not the first group of innocents to be trapped here, fighting against ungodly creatures.
Beautiful religious paintings line the walls, showing the Virgin, the Son, and His Disciples. The last light of sunset illuminates a single stained-glass window. Considering the state of the rest of the mansion, this room is eerily well-preserved. It isn't even dusty: truly this is a holy place.
Chained to the altar is the Book of White Magic. As Errkal can attest to, this hugely heavy book contains details of rituals that we could call upon in our quest.
And so, here we are.
This morning, we shall attempt one of these rituals.
The White Book refers to a heavy crystal chalice which, when drank from on the solstice, can impart superhuman toughness to the skin of the drinker. It just so happens that this phase is the solstice.
This event requires five volunteers. They drink in alphabetical order and may gain the ability to resist one attempt on their life. However, as the chalice is very heavy, they may drop it, shattering it and ending the event.
The odds for this event will work as follows:
- if the drinker is an omnivore, they will have a 25% chance of gaining the blessing of the chalice. - if the drinker is any other role, they will have a 50% chance of gaining the blessing. - if the drinker is an omnivore, they will have a 20% chance of dropping the chalice. - if the drinker is any other role, they will have a 50% chance of dropping the chalice. - all of these outcomes will be determined by a random number generator.
The thread will be notified as to whether the chalice has been drunk from or dropped, but only the drinker will be notified as to whether or not they have been blessed.
NOTE: the odds for gaining the blessing and dropping the chalice are separate i.e. it isn't so that if you don't do one, you will do the other. It's entirely possible that a cannibal could drink from the chalice without dropping it and not gain a blessing, for example.
I will post again shortly, after which time anyone will be free to volunteer themselves for this event. (If you've volunteered already - sorry - you'll have to do so again. I want everyone to have at least half a chance to read this post)
