Faith: "Lisa, I'm Faith Crowley, patriotism editor of Reading Digest."

Homer: "Ooh, I love your magazine. My favourite section is how to increase your word power. That thing is really... really... really... good."

I didnt know about the secret identity, but i think on the season 1 DVD commentary they said it was supposed to be the main joke that Bart hates Homer, yet idolises Krusty who is just Homer in clown makeup.

Same with Radioactive man, whose head design is also pretty much just Homer in a mask.

I don't think I've ever associated Radioactive Man with looking like Homer. The only similarity is a smooth head, but that's purely because of the mask.

Kind of. But the joke (as it ended up) is that both of Bart's heroes look kind of like Homer.

A Simpsons character doing the peace sign looks all kinds of wrong. :dread:

You know how some people (some on here) say they won't watch new Simpsons... does that mean they haven't seen the rock and roll fantasy camp ep? That ep, for me, disproves two things: that all "new" Simpsons is gooseberry fool, and that modern guest voices aren't a patch on "classic" guest voices. Granted season 14 happened a while ago but it still came after the point where many people say the show became gooseberry fool. Not saying they're not right, just that they're missing out on some quality Simpson moments.

Rock and Roll fantasy camp is still a bad Simpsons episode.

It's not at the very top of classic Simpsons but it's by no means a "bad Simpsons" episode.

There's no SNPP.com page for it so I can't find extensive reviews of it but according to its Wikipedia page it was well received  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_I_Spent_My_Strummer_Vacation#Reception

I didn't mind that episode either, and completely agree that the guest voices were very well done. Like you say, not a great, classic episode, but not a bad one either. I'm fine admitting that every so often after season 10 there were good episodes.
