They were rumoured to be working on a fifth Dead Rising game, it’s a shame to see another studio close. I never played DR4 but I know it wasn’t overly well received from the hardcore DR crowd, 100+ people now looking for new employment.

Dang, man, it's always sad to hear of game studios being shuttered. By most accounts Dead Rising 4 wasn't quite brilliant but it's a shame that it seems to have caused their demise. Game development is so precarious.

I have always liked the idea of the Dead Rising games and have played them all, but never got anywhere near the end. I found them too hard and I ended up running around the map avoiding zombies, rather than killing them. It had that Capcom way of making the controls feel slightly wrong, so doing things quickly was difficult.

I used to love Dead Rising but this generation's Dead Rising 3 and 4 were a complete travesty, completely killing off the fun and charm of the older titles.

Capcom have had a great generation so far with their Japanese games (Resident Evil 7, Monster Hunter World, SFV Arcade) and Resi 2 and DMC V look like they'll be added to that, but Dead Rising this gen has been a gooseberry fool stain on that reputation.

Outsourcing the development to Canada was a huge mistake.

I've only played 4 and I really had a lot of fun with it, shame the 5th game has been likely scrapped and these folks have lost their jobs.
Maybe Capcom will revive the franchise next gen with a much needed reboot.
