Just read this on Steam:

DELUXE EDITION
The Deluxe Edition contains the main game and the Extra DLC Pack which includes the following items:
-Leon Costume: "Arklay Sheriff"
-Leon Costume: "Noir"
-Claire Costume: "Military"
-Claire Costume: "Noir"
-Claire Costume: "Elza Walker"
-Deluxe Weapon: "Samurai Edge - Albert Model"
-"Original Ver." Soundtrack Swap

It's strawberry floating Resident Evil 2 so I'm gonna be a complete sucker and pre-order the deluxe edition but I've gotta be honest, that soundtrack swap sounds strawberry floating tasty.

Resident Evil 2 was my first Resident Evil game I've ever played and completed (though I was dogshit at it back then) and I'm really looking forward to this remake, day one for me on PC.

And considering Capcom has been better at subtitling their games, it means I'll be able to finally play Resident Evil 2 with subtitles.

I could hear a bit of the Police Station theme playing in the demo, but it was very quiet and didn't sound right.

The original soundtrack is one of my favourites of all time and is integral to the experience.

I don't usually go for these pre-order bonuses, but this is essential for me.

Resident Evil 2 Collector's Edition

Image
Image

The Resident Evil 2 Collector’s Edition includes:

Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition Full Game
Special Deluxe Packaging
Extra DLC Pack Card

Give Leon and Claire a new look or a blast from the past with unique costumes:

Leon Costume: “Arklay Sheriff”
Leon Costume: “Noir”
Claire Costume: “Military”
Claire Costume: “Noir”
Claire Costume: “Elza Walker”

Ensure the undead stay undead with a special weapon:

Deluxe Weapon: “Samurai Edge – Albert Model”

And bring on the nostalgia with classic tunes:
“Original Version” Soundtrack Swap

Leon S. Kennedy (R.P.D. Version) Figure
An expertly-crafted 12-inch figure of Leon on his first day in his new RPD police uniform, re-created to mirror his in-game design down to the smallest details. A must-have for any Resident Evil fan or collector!

“Ben’s File” Art Book
A 32-page book left behind by Ben Bertolucci, a freelance journalist who makes an appearance in Resident Evil 2. This file contains photos and files documenting events after the Raccoon City tragedy, and was filed away as a highly confidential document by the U.S. government. It’s never been seen by the public… until now.

Digital Soundtrack
A voucher code for a 25-track album featuring new songs from the remake of Resident Evil 2, as well as a selection of arrangements from the original game.

“R.P.D.” Renovation Design Poster
A diagram reminiscent of blueprints, this poster illustrates how the building was renovated and transformed from a museum to a police facility when work was being done on the building in 1969.

Sometimes less is more with box art. Would have just done a twist on the original.

Statue does look good though.

I don't know why it bugs me so much but I hate how Capcom seem to deny the fact that Claire wore pink denim shorts in Resident Evil 2. In everything else since then, such as Darkside Chronicles and Operation RC, they've also given her blue denim shorts that clash horribly with her top. I guess they were just never happy with how her costume turned out seeing as they'e completely scrapped it in this for pretty much the exact outfit she wore in Revelations 2.

I would quite like the statue, but when you realise it’s probably going to cost the same amount as an Xbox One S... :|

Had it weighed more on original PS1 nostalgia I probably would have given in.

I do think the collector's edition looks lovely and is great for people who happens to be long term fans and have money for it, but for me it's too much especially I have no use for any of that save DLC and the game itself.

I'll just get the regular edition, can't wait for this though ♥️

You thought a $200 collectors edition was a bit much? How about a $972 edition?

Image

https://www.e-capcom.com/shop/g/gC00002682/

Nabbed from ResetEra
Titled the "Resident Evil 2: Z Version Premium Edition", and priced at a whopping 107,784 Yen [$972], this edition comes with the standard Collector's Edition available both in Japan and the US and also the Qwerkywriter S LEXINGTON Bluetooth keyboard - as well as 4 rolls of police tape housed in ink ribbon containers. Adding up all of the contents is less than $500; so why it's $972 is beyond me.

Would have been far cooler were it an actual typewriter with real ink ribbons.

But yeah, these special editions have become so cynical across the board.

It's cool and all, but you could easily build a mechanical keyboard with the same aesthetic.

That Japanese box art is significantly better than the western art.

Or just buy it direct from the manufacturer: https://www.qwerkywriter.com/products/q ... l-keyboard

Capcom have just stuck a couple of very minor additions to it.

The steel book case is very nice.

Not sure what I’m supposed to do with a fake set of keys though. :?

Just seen it’s up for pre-order at GAME priced £230: https://www.game.co.uk/en/m/resident-ev ... me-2395302.

More than the price of the hardware to actually play it on. :slol:
