I had my car in for an MoT yesterday and it failed. Badly. Total price for my car to get through the MoT will be £650 and as it’s a tatty looking Y reg it can go strawberry float itself.

I don’t use my car much anymore as I have moved into the centre of Bristol. I use it to visit family, to do a fortnightly shop and that’s about it. I have seen these car clubs on telly and think they might be for me. No insurance, tax or MoTs to pay for just a £50 a year membership fee and then around £5 an hour.

Has anybody had any experience of using these clubs?

I was looking at this one http://www.citycarclub.co.uk/ and they seem to have a few vehicles reasonably close to me.

Couldn't you just offer a discrete £20 to the MOT tester to past your vehicle?

I probably could try it but it was pretty busy in there yesterday. :D Plus I reckon they would want more than £20 if they think they are in line for £650 on the repairs.
