Also, just to clear things up a bit. The insurers are giving your dad the money that the car is worth now, not what he bought it for. The only way he could have gotten the full worth of the car back would have been to take out GAP insurance when he bought the car.

Yeah the price is fair. Just bad luck I guess. Yeah we know that the insurance company is not ripping us off or anything. now to look for a brand new car under a tight budget :? don't want to spend more than 10k really.
Might have to continue this in the car thread.

Insurance CASHBACK from quidco etc
Is it possible to just cancel an existing policy and sign up again online to make use of the cashback from quidco for new customers?

We had to get a new car due to the old one being written off and the insurance for that car expires at the end of this month.

Are you talking about cancelling the insurance for the car that was written off? Yeah, just phone up the insurers and cancel it. Also, what is this cashback offer about?

Is the insurance through them or is it a confused/go compare type deal where you use them as a comparison website?

Quidco is just an affiliate company.

We've been using quidco for years and have made over £400 on items we have bought anyway.

its through Aviva. Quidco is just a cashback site where you go to first. They then give you a link to forward you to the company website where you make your purchase. But because you went through quidco u will receive cashback.

If it compares with other insurance quotes then tell your dad to go for it.
