I have a question, that maybe you can answer.

Why do my non-motoring convictions affect my insurance premiums?

I have no idea because
We are no longer offering new motor insurance policies through Cornhill Direct, as we have launched an exciting new product called Your Cover Insurance.

Your Cover's quote comes in at a hefty
Your Cover by Allianz
£709.13

Admiral 10 months accelerator for £640 fully comp (wife as second name on the policy). Pretty decent policy compared to every other price I was quoted. :)

I used that. It also means my MOT / Service and Insurance go out of sync so I can spread the cost over a few months 8-)

Annual insurance dance FTML, bastards do it every year now, hoping you'll stick with them and their suddenly shocking premiums.

My premium with whoever the strawberry float it was as I can't remember as I have to change every year now doubled last renewal, I asked the woman, politely, five times to explain to me in plain English why I had to pay twice the cost of last year, she just kept changing the subject, bitch could have been a politician. :fp:

Just be mindful that other companies may not accept accelerated years as no claims should you look to move company. Likewise some policies that let named drivers collect no claims, are only valid for that company! It's how they grab you by the balls so you have to renew with them!

Instead of renewing, I cancelled my insurance and then bought it online (with same company) and also got an extra £60 for using Quidco. Saved over £100 and upgraded from 3rd party to fully comp. 8-)

For those that don't know and use either, Admiral and Elephant are the same company. So, if you get a quote from one, just get a cheaper quote from the other, keep the reference number and call up your existing one. They'll match it on the spot.

Doing this a few years back I managed to get a FAR cheaper quote on Admiral, so i rang elephant to say I was switching. Cue frenzied ZOMFG PLS DNT GO! And they matched it. Anyway, I realised a few weeks after that it was so much cheaper (talking over a hundred here) as i'd not declared my extras on the admiral one. SO i got the admiral price in the end but with all my relevant bits declared. 8-)

tl;dr If you're with Admiral or Elephant, play both off each other and you'll always save something.
