Yeah, it could be either way. I think some days my Volvo was a little faster on the throttle but at some days I felt it was slower.

Speaking of tyre's, I've had the car for just under 4 years now, I've never had to have the rear tyre's changed (only changed the fronts once), I can't see in the history I have that the rears have been changed. Planning on keeping it for a couple more years ideally before finally getting something new unless I find something that tempts me away much sooner or something catastrophically goes wrong with it. Would it be worthwhile just getting all 4 tyre's changed, that way the tyre's will at least be good for the rest of the time I have the car or would it not be worthwhile? Tread feels fine on them by the way but I haven't measured it.
Check your tread indicators to see how much left you've got. It also depends on how much you travel on each week and for example, I had my car service at the end of March and my front tyres were 3.8mm. Since then, I've travelled almost two thousand miles and now the front tyres are 3.7mm. I travel average 200 miles a week on the M6 mostly.
