My steering feels light and less sensitive after I washed it with a jet wash today

I have never used a jet wash before and thought I'd give it a game, used loads of foam all over the car and wheels, then high pressure hot and cold wash followed by a cold wash with wax.

Now the steering doesn't feel the same...not sure why it was only a jet wash.

Did you accidentally use the space cake mode on the jet wash?

Are you sure you didn't mix cars with someone else while they were both covered in foam?

Just had my front brake pads replaced and the damn squeaking is still there.
Gonna have to take it back next week to find out what’s wrong now that we have ruled out the front.
Most likely cheap rear brake pads from a local garage I went to 6 months ago which was when the squeaking started.

Just wondering what you all think I should do. On my daily commute I have to drive through a school populated road. Tonnes of traffic on here and there is a particular lollipop man who is causing havoc.
As soon as there is just one person waiting to cross the road, he will stop all traffic and on average only lets 2-3 cars through before he stops traffic again. This is causing a massive queue of traffic backing up and blocking a roundabout further back.

The other week I refused to stop for him as he about to stop us, he had only put one foot onto the 4 lane road so it was ok. I feel I need to have a word with him and let him know that he's causing havoc and that he should wait until there are more people before stopping traffic, as do the automatically level crossings.

What do you guys think? Does it seem acceptable to lower my car window and offer him advice on how to do his job? Or should I call the school to complain?

If they are on the road and showing the sign for you to stop, then you should stop. If you ignore it and carry on driving then it is an offence under the Road Traffic Act and you can be sent to court. Given the other things you posted on here about your gooseberry fool driving that you deem to be perfectly acceptable, you should probably give up driving before you injure or kill someone. Go and do something like rafting instead.

I like how you've added this bit to try and justify your poor driving  If you read PSM's post you'll see that it's not okay. You're required by law to stop. People like you shouldn't be driving past schools (or at all, being honest) - Find a different route. Or keep driving like you do and hopefully you'll get stopped and banned before you actually do any damage to anyone.

By law a lollipop lady or man has the right to stop vehicles and cyclists to allow people to cross the road in a safe manner. This job has become a dangerous one in recent times and some council’s have fitted the lollipops with miniature cameras to catch motorists that abuse and threaten the school crossing patrols.

Don’t be one of the growing statistics that fail to stop when a lollipop man or woman displays their stop sign in the middle of the road. If you do, you could be fined a maximum of £1,000 and if you are convicted you will also receive three points on your driving licence.

Stopping to tell him how to do his job will A) Make you even later than his shoddy workmanship does, and B) will make you look like a massive BMW-driving bellend.

Thanks for the above advice. Don’t want to be breaking the law and being caught on camera too lol
There are several other routes I could take but I prefer this one. Sometimes I go off the main road to avoid this school run bit. But the other route is full of incompetent drivers who get stuck giving way and I have to wait ages to get onto the main road because of them.
I’ll just try leaving earlier to avoid the school run.

Go earlier or leave later to avoid the school run. Or learn to be patient, the lollypop man is not there to spoil your journey, but to make sure kids can cross the road safely without someone not noticing them.

FFS, this is beyond parody now, surely?
I can't take this anymore.

  • My steering is light after jet washing my car?
    Fuuuuuuck offfff.

  • Oh no I've got squeaky brakes, boohoo.
Woe is you.. buy some ceramic grease (Google "CeraTec") and do the job yourself

  • I hate having to stop for lollypop men as outlined by the law, it ruins my superior driving experience
Maybe you should see if Dignitas have any vouchers going on Groupon

That sounds exactly like something one of our customers would want to book in for.
