Doing up a house atm so wanted a boot big enough for runs to the tip and Screwfix but also heated leather seats for back to normal commuting in the week.

Budget is £3.5k and seems plenty of them around. Beauty is they're all 1 owner from new and is usually a 60+ year old antique dealer.

That D5 engine is brilliant so I heard.

I have a V60 D4 myself and I want to change my car, but I also love it. Difficult to make the decision and I am looking for either S60 B5 or T8 in the future.

Currently looking at Hybrids and I'm somewhat torn between the Hyundai Tucson and the Renault Austral.
Going to take a look at the Ford Kuga today as well.

Me and the wife are considering starting a family in the next year or two, and the ever present prospect of being forced to make a 150 mile round trip commute twice per week makes me conscious of fuel efficiency, but I don't really want to go with diesel again incase it jumps in price again.

Our car insurance was increased by £200 to renew despite longer no claims and changes in our personal circumstances and housing that were better than previously, so we shopped around and found it £150 cheaper than it had previously been before the increase. Presented that to our old insurer in case they matched it but they insisted the most competitive option was a £160 increase. So obviously ditched them. Can't figure out how car insurance works at all.

Don't even bother negotiating with your old insurer. Just always move.

The other day I had a courtesy car for the day which was a Volvo S60 B5 Polestar Engineered and it was so quick! :datass:

It almost had 300PS in a two litre petrol mild hybrid. It was so easy to drive and I'd love to have one, but I do not think it's very economical for my travelling to work. I drive 25 miles one way to work and back home, so it's 50 miles a day.

It's so good mate.

Boot size is basically comparable to a transit van. Full brown leather interior. Sun roof! Heated seats etc etc pure luxury as I pull up at the local tip or do the nursery run. We've just been down to Pembrokeshire in it (300 mile round trip) and it didn't skip a beat. Ultimate beach wagon.

Bad things: handles like a transit van. And the 6 CD Player is broken :( also some intermittent warnings on the dash about abs but not worried about that

160,000 on the clock and I paid £3k for it. Would like to get some life out of it and I might treat her to a new stereo + Bluetooth system.
