That cannot be true when Cars 2 exists. :dread:

Cars 2 exists in the same way the fourth Indiana Jones film or Star Wars Episodes I-III exist. We know they exist but we just don't talk about them, don't think about them, don't acknowledge them.

As well as rocky 5..and halo 4.

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

That doesn't work in this case, there are good Indiana Jones films, there are good Star Wars films and there are good Rocky films.

There are no good films in the Cars series.

I'm pretty sure that was actually the tagline used on the Cars 2 poster

Cars 2 was a completely unnecessary sequel. It would've worked much better as an episodic thing on the Disney channel, like Buzz Lightyear of Star Command and the countless other decent TV spinoffs Disney made of their films (Aladdin, the Little Mermaid, Timon and Pumba, Lilo and Stitch...).

It would've also given Disney the potential of having a decent TV show for the first time in a decade or so.

You might not like it, but it's a huge money spinner. Kids love that gooseberry fool, especially boys. Even Planes has a sequel.

Gravity Falls?

I know it's hard to remember, since they basically never show it, but come on.

But with a TV show there's like... so much more potential for merchandise. You'd keep the spy theme so they'd still be able to keep schilling the "disguise" dinky models, and there'd be so much more potential for different cars, different adventures, slightly different paint jobs that the kids'll want to buy again and again.

I mean, they got close with Mater's Tall Tales (the series of shorts), which they also milked with the toys, but as they were just 7 minute shorts they never really got anywhere. They could've saved the budget of the film, saved the disappointment of the fans and the critics and still got just as much (if not more) merchandising.

Sorry Frank, but that's not even close to being true. A film will do far more for merchandise then any TV series will achieve. The days of TV series selling the majority of action figures are behind us.
