Bumped into Edwin Van Der Sar on a street in Amsterdam, while absolutely wasted. Shouted something I love you at the top of my voice because, to be fair, he was a hell of a keeper. Without even turning round he just gave this cool as strawberry float thumbs up and kept walking.

Never seen anyone famous on oxford st, either i've not been paying attention or have just been unlucky.

Randomly stumbled across a David Walliams book signing session in harrods once though.

I grew up and went to school with the children of Dundee Utd and Dundee players so met a few of them.

I saw Stephen Hawking a few times in Cambridge, one in the hip hop section of HMV.

Stood in line at Vancouver airport with David Duchovny.

Met Mike MClean at a Nickelodeon Red Hot Lobster tour when I went up on stage to play in some game.

That's about it.

Saw Richard Madely in some village in Cornwall. 8-)
James Marsden (of Black Hawk Down, Resident Evil and Coronation Street fame) came to my school in about year 8 for some reason.
Stood behind Boris Becker at Heathrow immigration.
Met Roddy Woomble of Idlewild fame.
Saw Anthony Hopkins in Toronto.
Saw Shigeru Miyamoto in London.
Met David Prowse (Darth Vader).
Met a few Dr Who people (Jon Pertwee, Elizabeth Sladen, few others).
Met Jonah Lomu.

Stephen Hawking nearly drove into me in Oxford once.

I also got really drunk with Steve Jones whilst playing Trivial Pursuit. Really decent guy. Funny and good looking. Bastard.

I’ll check with Hayden Panetierre next time I see her.

I've met a shedload of celebrities. Recent ones of note include Keanu Reeves, Rupert wassisface from Harry potter, Sterling Moss and Ken Block.

Oh and Karl, I met Stewart Lee a couple of times and he was very nice. He looked fat and depressed.

I’m a good few years older than most on here so I’ve had a fair few chances

- first one I remember was Mike Yarwood at Jersey airport when I was about 10 in 1980 (famous tv comic and impersonator from late 70s)

- I met the entire Man U squad in July 96 when they stopped at the Village hotel in Nottingham for a 4-team preseason tournament. We (18 of us) were there on a stag do and that was our base. Met Ferguson, Beckham, Cantona, Schmeichel, Butt, Scholes, Sharpe, McClair amongst others

- Slipknot - they (and their minders) walked right past me in the Virgin Megastore in Birmingham in full on face mask attire sometime mid/late 90s. They were on their way to do a signing in front of store but I had no idea who they were at the time!

- Simple Minds - same Virgin store for a signing of their Live in the City of Lights double LP in 1987

- saw Gok Wan in Cardiff on my stag do in 2007

- saw Niall Quinn on his phone in London when I was in a coffee shop with some colleagues in 2013. Think Sky’s offices were just around the corner

- met loads of footballers at the City Ground. Not just Forest players, but from other teams too including Joey Barton (surprisingly came across as a nice guy), Iain Holloway, John McGovern (loads of times with that NFFC legend), Chris Hughton, Nigel Clough

Saw Jackie Stewart & Murray Walker the following day at the same event
Tom Kristensen at Silverstone when he was in the BTCC pre Le Man's fame

Paul O’Grady - I was in a clothes store in Amsterdam and there he was trying a coat on. Said hi and got my photo taken with him and a small chat. He was very friendly. It was definitely him even though I had a space cake the previous day.

Hollyoaks - bumped into a couple of people from Hollyoaks whilst on a night out in Liverpool. They were so friendly and chatted to me. Shook hands and one put his arm around me whilst he was talking to me.

Bill Nighy - Starbucks in London just off Regent Street. He must live near there as a mate of mine also saw him there before.

Met all those too apart from Murray, i saw Murray once, but he was distracted by some other fans behind a fence opposite where i was stood and so didn't get around to coming across to my side.

I met Nigel Mansell when he raced in the BTCC in 1998, the event that day attracted one of the biggest crowds i had ever seen!

Tom Kristensen i met in the same way you did, at the BTCC in 2000, while i saw Jackie Stewart on several occasions when he was running the Stewart F3 team with his son Paul (bumped into Paul Stewart by the pit garages in 1999 (i think it was 99), and he was randomly giving passers by '10 years of stewart racing' pin badges, they're probably quite rare now.
