Jessica-Jane Clement would get me watching. They'd probably try and get someone off T4 (assuming it was on Ch4). Russell Howard would be too annoying.

Not a bad policy when you take the quality of BBC and ITV recommissions into account. Top Gear and Dr Who excluded :shifty:

I think its worked as Channel 4 is always providing fresh new TV. Its one of those thing that you don't realise until you are told - I've had people down the pub trying for hours to name a 'recommissioned Channel 4 show'!

Surely there was some downtime when Richard Whitley died?

EDIT: Apparently not. Wow.

Thats not 'bringing it back' though - theres always gaps between series. It was about a year - but thats no 'recommission'. They 'recommission new series of popular current shows', but do not recommission classic shows after an extended time off the air.

Can't find any evidence of a break - ran for 21 years - 1982 to 2003. Episodes a week got cut, but the show was never 'axed' until the end.

Are we talking recently or ever?

I am pretty sure they brought the Tube back at one point.

Edit:

Just looked. It was brought back for a one off but by Sky.

Hmm, it’s a good question as I cant honestly think of any shows they have revived.

Its ever. It is the channels policy and I'm not aware of any exception. Its why a lot of Channel 4 shows ending often is an emotional overblown affair, as they know there is no chance of a reprieve by the channel. EDIT - However I'd like to know if there is any show that somehow slipped that rule.

Brass Eye ended in 1997 but came back for a one off Paedogeddon Special in 2001. I'm not sure if that counts.

It kinda counts. Its a one-off special admittedly though.

Do you remember TFI Fridays with Chris Evans?

That was great.
