Chappie - District 9 meets Short Circuit

Anyone else looking forward to this?

Yes I want to see it.

Not looking forward to getting hit in the feels though.

It looks great despite the inclusion of Die Antwoord in the cast.

Loved District 9. Definitely going to see CHAPPIE.

I'm hoping that this will be the best "artificial intelligence develops sentience and has to survive" film. A.I. was mediocre, iRobot was merely okay, Automata was good but lacked a lot of character and world development. Here's hoping that this one is the among the best covering this subject.

I'll be amazed if it's better than ~~the original~~ Short Circuit, but I'm really looking forward to seeing this anyway.

So long as it has a white guy playing an Indian I will watch this.

I knew nothing about this film until I peeked into this thread. Yes I (now) want to see it. Also, is that Sharlto Copely voicing Chappie?

Chappie doesn't have a laser cannon. Johnny 5 would call his mother a snowblower and then kick the gooseberry fool out of him.

I don't usually cry at movies, but when I do it's usually because of a cute robot getting the gooseberry fool kicked out of it. :cry:

Oh my god I should not be allowed to watch films with sentient robots. Got so emotional in places.

It gets a little too Lucy-esque towards the end, but everything up to that point is just phenomenal.

It sucks that this film is getting more attention than Ex Machina did.

Yep. Ex-Machina is by far the better film.

Ex Machina is a fine film but let's not pretend it's a masterpiece.
