Mike Tyson didn't box for a team so there is a difference there. But there was also huge controversy when he boxed following his conviction and he is still finding it difficult to enter the UK ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/boxing/25325977 ).

I would counter that a tangent remains relevant to the wider discussion, in this case being the law where rape is is concerned. Indeed, I would suggest that is precisely what is meant by a discussion tangent. The reason I used the word in the first place was to take it away from the specific case. It doesn't matter, anyway. I just wasn't too keen on creating another thread specifically to discuss whether or not I am technically a rapist/victim of sexual assault :slol:

So hasn't actually apologised for his actions and still maintains he is innocent.

It's like a murderer apologising for the funeral costs but not the actual murder.

Not all of what you post here is true, but then I have given up on you trying to look at this case in an objective manner.

He claims consent was given. He doesn't claim that having sex with her wasn't wrong (he cheated on his girlfriend, for one thing), he only maintains that consent was given. He is not an unrepentant rapist.
