Sudden and unexpected.

RIP one of the greatest voices in rock!

I'm genuinely shocked by this and will be listening to Soundgarden all day.

Absolutely gutted, his voice was incredible - along with Mike Patton's one of the best ranges I've ever heard. Eddie Vedder is pretty much the last man standing of Washington based frontmen of the 1990s.

Soundgarden songs are on random play on my iPod at work all day in tribute.

The Day I Tried To Live remains one of my all time favourite vocal performances and songs.

RIP

I'm lost for words. It's a death that's up there with Carrie Fisher and Kurt cobain for me. A proper hero.

Just Eddie left now.

You've never heard Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden? Or the theme tune to Casino Royale? Or Cochise by Audioslave?

Those three tracks alone are some of the most famous and popular rock songs from the last 25 years.

I'm currently listening to Superunknown, what a tremendous record that was. Fell on black days indeed.

Only heard of Black Hole Sun but always thought that was Metallica. :fp:

Which probably means you know lots of Soundgarden/Chris Cornell tracks but have associated them with Guns n Roses, Spice Girls and Bob Marley.

;)
