I've decided I'm going to begin my christmas gaming this weeked. I'll be playing DKCTF and metroid prime 2 to give me that Christmas day feeling all the way up to the day itself.mcant beat nintendo games for feeling like a kid again

As an example, last year's game was mario 3D world which I played most of Christmas day. The year before was DKCR, metroid prime & super metroid.

What Christmas games will you be playing?

I'm going to be playing Assassins Creed Unity on Christmas Day and while playing it my face will disappear and I'll glitch through the sofa into endless space 8-)

I'll be playing Shenmue around Christmas, as per the yearly tradition. 8-)

I really wish I had a Dreamcast just to go through both Shenmue games again. Might try and emulate again, failed to get the Dreamcast emulator working last time but pretty sure I still have Shenmue on my HDD.

I have christmas nights but never had a Saturn to play it on. I forgot about emulation so I'll probably try and give that a go too.

Would love to get it running on my laptop to save the hassle of bringing the Dreamcast out again.

I never had a Nintendo console until the Wii came along, by which point I was well into my twenties, so it's not really a nostalgia thing, but the last few years I've mad a habit of playing a lot of Nintendo games towards the end of the year, especially around Christmas. This year it's going to be Super Mario World and Majora's Mask, both for the first time :D I'll also be playing Tearaway on Christmas day.

Last year it was Super Mario Bros 3, Metroid Prime 2 and Journey and before that, Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time.

This Christmas will be split between PS4 and Wii U

GTA 5
The last of us
Far Cry 4
PES 2015
Wind Waker HD
Super Mario 3D World
MK8
Maybe Bayonetta 2 if I get time!

Ocarina of Time still holds the best Christmas day gaming memories for me.

Mario Galaxy and 3D World are up there too. It's a shame that Captain Toad won't be out by then as it would have been perfect.

If I'm not still playing Destiny, I might check out Shadow of Mordor or the new Dragon Age game.

Memories wise it has to be the original Shenmue - I played that game from start to finish over a good number of days in the warmth whilst it was freezing outside! One of my favourite gaming memories and wish I could recreate it this year.

Any really good Dreamcast emulators/ guides available on the Internet?

I use Demul, but I've only ever used it for Shenmue. Seems to work fine, though.

No idea what I'm going to be playing this christmas. Elite Dangerous will be fresh but being alone in space won't feel very christmas. Wind Waker is still sat on my Wii U after getting it for free. Bit of Zelda would be very christmassy for me but WW was trash. I'd rather play something Nintendo for full nostalgic effect but we don't have Captain Toad and I've never been able to get into Smash Bros enough to justify buying it. If it miraculously goes cheap I might get that. Plus I've promised myself a run through of all Half Life games. Again not very Christmas.

I'm stuck this year :(

I run it at 3x internal resolution on a Core 2 Quad just fine.

I like to use the Christmas hols as a chance to reduce the number of unplayed games on my Steam List. I have my sights set on Dreamfall Chapters, plus a number of games that are completeable within a few hours.

At the moment I'm planning to start Omega Ruby at Christmas but I feel like playing something in real time, not turn based. I may go through Mario 64 or Ocarina as I've wanted to replay them for a while.

That being said, I'd rather start a new game so I might have a look for something in my Steam library.
