There are fireworks here, but I'm dosed up on Pinot grigio and CBD oil, so I'm relaxed and not giving much of a strawberry float.

2023 can strawberry float off

But most of my problems still remain :fp:

I have a personal question about the effects of your PTSD that you don't have to answer if you don't want to. I'm just curious. If you can see the fireworks does it still affect you in the same way? I'm just wondering if it's just the noises that trigger it in general or if it's the noise and the fact you can't see what's happening.

Seeing them doesn't help at all. It's any kind of loud "bang" that triggers me. I can't be around popping balloons for much the same reason. One time I was driving in town, and a car backfired nearby. I had to pull over and gather myself for a few minutes.

If you want to know about PTSD experiences in general as long as your not faint of heart or triggered easily I made an account of how I got PTSD, what treatment for it was like and all the general sort of stuff...... It is different for everyone but if your interested in the disorder in general I will answer any questions you have if you want to PM them..... For some people its very fresh for others its a bit more buried, I have got mine to where it is still in the background but doesn't bother me too much.

I will watch that later on today. Thanks Kerr. I've, ignorantly, assumed that PTSD was defined by flashbacks and crippling fear/anxiety. Never knew that other symptoms included things like withdrawal and relationship problems. I've gone a good few months without having nightmares, which has been lovely, but I do have recurring nightmares where I'm committing extreme acts of violence against my father. Makes me wonder if I may have some form of mild PTSD due to the years of abuse he put me through. I've always put my anxiety and other issues down to other external factors but I guess he may be the source.
