Damn, how hard is it to just continue on from the first movie?

This this this.

I really wanted a direct sequel that picks up right where the first film finishes, it would have been great to see a film where the leaders of the top armies/countries continually fail to deal with the invulnerable threat, the measures they would take (and the effect this would have on the populations/environment, like the repeated nuking of the creature or release of pathogens against it) and the eventual either victory or slow lingering defeat. That would have been rad.

Ah well.

They'd have to actually make another film from scratch instead of using another one in production and shoving a bunch of Cloverfield stuff into it which is apparently what happened with this and the previous film.

The Cloverfield monster is actually the first Kaiju and Pacific Rim is the sequel

It's a strange movie but watchable. I liked the final scene but it's no where near the level of the second movie.

Wish my image sig would work

I'm looking forward to sitting down and watching this tomorrow.

Even it it's not getting the most glowing reviews, I really shouldn't have read any reviews before watching tbh.

10 Cloverfield is really good John Goodman is great you dont know if either he is a total nutcase or the stuff he is saying is true great acting from all when sat around the table great tension builder that scene is. Plus Mary Elizabeth Winstead is in it & looks hot all thru the film   :datass:

Only ever seen the first one but just rewatched it with the GF and moved onto the second one now.

Heard good stuff about it, shame the third seems to be getting gooseberry fool reviews.

Just watched this, it’s garbage. It’s a muddled mess that’s worse than Prometheus. Awful.

Yeah, awful movie. So disappointed as I'd been looking forward to another Cloverfield movie since seeing 10 Cloverfield Lane (which I loved).

I can see why it didn't make it to cinemas now.

Hopefully the 4th movie (due October, codename Overlord, set in WWII will be better.

Watched it, it's no Event Horizon (and that's a pretty low bar).

There's some serious rose tinted specs going on in here. I'm not sure it's actually possible for a Paul W.S. Anderson film to be considered amazing, let alone a classic. It's serviceable approaching ok.

I liked the first half as there was plenty going on,but it was pretty obvious
that dimensions had spliced together
.

Also,
5 seconds of alien action
boo hiss etc

Rapidly-greying is Mediocre to Average at games :fp:
