I'm calling time on this question, folks.

The answer I was looking for is that the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Washington Monument, and Lincoln Cathedral were all the single tallest structure on Earth at the point in time that they were completed/constructed.

I feel I should get a point for this. I think your answer is too overly specific and unlikely to have been guessed.
