Sounds pretty bad, I was hoping for a gradual look at society breaking down.

Society was basically gone halfway through season one.

I know but thought they might have sailed to an area that hadn't experienced it all yet.

They're still very close to LA, big cities with massive populations will have been completely overrun fairly quickly so it seems a bit stupid for them to think going to San Diego is a good idea, although not as stupid as Hawaii.

Hasn't any of them read the Zombie Survival Guide?

I'm hoping we will see more of a breakdown in society. I too don't want this just to be a "filler" Walking Dead before that show returns again.

Average start with too many idiots on board.

In their world, zombie horror was never a thing, so presumably neither was the ZSG.

San Diego is a stupid idea, but the very brief mention of a line maybe being held there could mean that the show takes us to the last stand of the western U.S. military. Which would be cool. Maybe the closest we'll get to a proper not-shit Battle of Yonkers scenario.

Already? I think they're overestimating the show's popularity.

Nah -

the spinoff is still the second highest rated show on cable this season in the 18-49s – behind only TWD itself. On both broadcast and cable, FearTWD is the seventh highest rated show, including Sunday Night Football, this season so far.

Can't see this show lasting too long.

The only real problem I can see them having with the show is the lack of concrete source material to work from, TWD is essentially a retelling of the comic storyline whereas FTWD is entirely new and my concern is that it'll become like Lost and feel like the writers are making it up as they go.

S02E02 spoilers

I have a strong suspicion that Strand might actually be behind the zombie apocalypse or at least knew about it in advance. Another more 'out there' theory is that Strand will end up as a Governor or Negan type character whom the rest of the group end up involuntary working for.

Wasn't that keen on the first series and even less bothered after the first two episodes of season 2. It's just a bit boring and, as others have said, I would have liked to have seen a bit more of the world before it descended into chaos.

It doesn't help that I don't think any of the characters are actually that likeable or relatable. Like, with TWD I'm aware that the writing and story is a bit rubbish, but I'm invested in the show and the people in it so will continue to watch it. I'd probably have stopped after season 1 of this if I wasn't watching it with the other half. And also the fact I don't like starting a programme and not finishing it, regardless of how poor they are.

Yeah, the first two episodes of this season have been dull as dishwater. There are all these exciting events going on, and all these writers can think up is a yacht, an island and a mystery pirate ship.

Yeah, they should have just ripped off elements of World War Z. Not sure how many episodes of this boat gooseberry fool I can be bothered with tbh. I did rather like the first season, but they pushed forward too much and seemingly have missed the collapse of society already.

They had the chance to re-enact the Battle of Yonkers, or put our new heroes squarely in the middle of the military's bombing campaign. Instead, we get the awesome thrill of waiting it out at sea, probably coming ashore just in time to allow the group to wander the same street for the rest of the season.

I guess I'll stick it out a while longer, see if this exercise in watching paint dry as fireworks go off behind us can be salvaged.

This is awful :dread:

The whole point of the spin off being that you get to see it all fall apart, yet we just have some boring boat crap and tesco value Johnny Depp greasing up every scene. SD IS GONE OMG, well why didn't they have them go there and show us the horror of discovering that for themselves? To see people realise the world is tucked first hand is what this spin off should be about, not looking at some map and then going LOL BACK TO THE BOAT FOR 6 MORE EPISODES TO THE MID SEASON FINALE LOL

This.

Like I keep harping on about. They should be showing the break down of society, a fall into chaos.
We already know how strawberry floated the world is through The Walking Dead. We don't need to see another group (and a completely unlikeable group they are too) going sailing, occasionally stopping on dry land, encounter other people, the scenario then gets strawberry floated up and they pop back on the boat again...... :fp: :fp: :fp:

I couldn't tell you the name of one of these characters which shows how gooseberry fool they are.

Tried watching this on Amazon Prime. I had to stop after the first episode.

Talk about an unlikable bunch.
