Fear the Walking Dead - Part 1 of Final Season underway.

I think the lack of gore is more a tonal thing, it's less comic book intense. Really enjoyed the second episode, Kim Dickens is a fantastic lead and her partner is really likeable as well. In fact, everyone's pretty likeable which is a feat considering what we had to go through with The Walking Dead.

There's only 6 episodes in this season though right? Like the first season of TWD?

Is it true that if Fear is successful, there could be up to a half dozen more spin-offs over the next 15 years?

First I've heard of that, I doubt AMC have room for more than 2 Walking Deads on at the same time. Maybe another spin-off once the original ends.

I'd like to see a spin-off set in a different country than 'murica, not UK though as it'd be full of posh spoken Londoners or even worse, cockneys.

Decent 3rd episode, the barber has seen some stuff. Good to see the military being introduced to differ from regular Walking Dead. With their introduction I'm interested to see where it heads next, hopefully not stuck in a military controlled neighbourhood for the remaining 3 eps.

Ep3 was good.

It'll be interesting to see how the military totally lose control of the situation, It's never been clear exactly what happened to the army, navy and airforce

I thought that was the weakest episode so far, a few good old fashioned The Walking Dead clunker™ character decisions and coincidences. But not a bad episode, per se.

That scaffolding just had to fall on the wife's leg, didn't it? And the rioters just seemed to be running all over the place for no reason. The hospital scene though, that was special and it made sense.

I don't like the direction they've taken with Travis. He's seen someone get up after dying and try to kill a few times, but still tries to give them cuddles. And then the sudden introduction of the military headshotting Susan at the end. It was a little soap-y.

I like the barber character sans his wife and daughter. They've clearly seen 'gooseberry fool' in the likely context of escaping a central American regime, or something of that ilk.

The main stupid decision that's annoyed me the most is Let's go to the desert but take hardly any water - first thing I'd do would be to gather as much clean drinking water as possible before it became scarce, food too but water is number 1 priority

So true. I thought that too, they are the most unprepared family ever. Their decision making seemed to get a lot, lot worse as the series has continued.

The only people in the show who have any idea what they're doing are Nick (who is going to be useless once he runs out of anti withdrawal pills and that kid with the gooseberry fool knife who's clearly read the Zombie survival guide far too many times.

That was a good third ep. Still digging the vastly different tone it has going compared to its mother show. Daniel the Barber is gonna be an interesting character if they don't decide to kill him off. His wife is clearly gonna be a zombie before the end of the season, though.

One thing bothering me is why doesn't Nick change out of those clothes he stole from now that he's at home? :lol:

Surely he stinks to high heavens.

Guys, how long is this first season going to run? Will it be like the original with just a six episode starter? I haven't started watching it yet as I want to watch it in 'chunks'

Great episode.

Another highly enjoyable episode. This show is exactly what I wanted. They took everything they learned from finally getting The Walking Dead to good level of consistent quality and have applied it straight off the bat here to great effect.

Pretty great episode again (apart from that monologue at the beginning :dread:

) That beatdown of Nick was great. Kim Dickens :wub:

Another alumni of Southland making an appearance in this universe make me happy :mrgreen:

I have a feeling he won't be around for long, though.

Was that the first episode of either show without any ''living'' zombies in it? I can't remember any ep of TWD that didn't have some kind of zombie attack or forced inclusion of a threat just because. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come and it will have more episodes like this san-walkers.

I think there's probably not that many zombies lurking around at this point as the army are still relatively in control of things.

Ep4 ending: I'm guessing they're trying to get rid of anyone who could suddenly die and 'turn' hence the suicidal guy, the barbers wife, the guy with advanced heart disease and druggy Nick have been rounded up. Hope they don't kill him off though as he's a very interesting character

What about the blinking light signal? Why would they stop that if there was a legit survivor there?
