Used to come in all varieties bar glass bottles.

Talking of which, Coke Zero, Pepsi and Pepsi Max all come in glass bottles but I only ever see them individually in certain newsagents. Never see them in any of the supermarkets. It does look a hell of a lot better.

Coke Zero is my favourite, tastes more like normal Coke than diet but doesn't make me feel like I have fur on my teeth.

Yeah ditto, it's the fur that's the killer.

Glass bottle coke is the damage.

These days it's all about the Pepsi

I liked Coke Life, although I only ever drank it two times. It just seemed a bit of a pointless compromise, as the sugar level remained very high. Coke Zero works fine for me.

I'd love to see all of you talking about how one is nasty gooseberry fool but the other is nice take a blind taste test and see how many varieties you can accurately label. A surprisingly significant amount of what you taste is decided before it's even reached your tongue.

I have cut out having fizzy soft drinks at home. I was getting way too addicted to them; probs three or four cans a day. I found it surprisingly difficulty to kick the habit but I've been clean for about seven weeks now. I do still have the occasional one if I'm out and about, but that's it.

I have a pretty hardcore lifestyle  .

Well done. I attempted it nearly two years ago, i went 3 week without a fizzy drink. But then i had one at a meal out and it all went to pot. I've had two cans of pepsi today and don't think i've been a day without have a fizzy drink now for months. It total i don't actually drink them in large amounts but i do have them every day. 2 or 3 cans is probably my maximum. A lot of days probably one.

I have tried it a few other times and only managed a few days without one. I don't think it's the fizzy drink side necessarily but more likely the caffeine as i don't drink tea or coffee so cola is my only source of it. It could also be the sugar. I haven't really experimented with sugar free alternatives on a regular scale.

I thought it tasted perfectly fine.

I wouldn't go out my way to buy it but if it was ever on offer at the supermarket the wife would always pick it up.

I did it by not having the drinks in my home; if they were there then I just drank them - I couldn't resist :fp: . I'm now drinking tea, coffee, water and squash... with just the occasional Diet Coke when I'm out.

When I drank them regularly I was often thinking about having another; it was like some form of mild addiction - and that was for the sugar-free versions  :fp: .

Definitely get the addiction side. I often find myself craving one. If I try going a day or two without one the I think about having one a lot.

That said I don't really drink alcohol. I can go a number of months without touching a drop. I had three ciders four three weekends ago. Prior to that I hadn't touched alcohol for 3 months.

That fizzy drink addiction. I have the same thing where I'm always craving them. I'm a bit more controlled now, taking one every 3 days or so. At my worst, it was 2 cans a day.

The craving is always there. I guess it's not the worst thing you could be addicted to. I barely drink these days and I don't smoke. But man, still a waste of money.

Was it actually you shouting at your neighbour because she refused to give you a coke?

I tend to choose a Diet Coke or Coke Zero.
I don't drink alcohol and I'm diabetic so usually if I go into a bar I'll ask for a Diet Coke. Almost 100% of the time they'll ask if Diet Pepsi is okay, which it damn well isn't. Diet Pepsi is vile. Then I'll ask them if they have Pepsi Max, which they'll say no. Then I'll ask what sugar free drinks they have, and they'll usually say nothing else.
So literally every time I go to a bar, the only drink I can have is a Diet Pepsi. strawberry float you bars!
