Ive decided its time to try my hand at a forum game. Its a rough idea at the moment and may need a little polish and tweaking for balance but anyone interested please express ideas / suggestions / sign ups here.

Its on! The world is on the brink of disaster. Two teams must compete to destroy the other. The might of the Soviet Union must overcome the capitalist pigs. While the US of A must defend the freedom of the world from the Commie threat.

I will need quite a few people to make the game work, but the rules are as follows
I will evenly divide all players into 2 teams, the USA and the USSR. Each team must work together to find the code to activate the nuclear weapons and obliterate the opposition.
Image
The code will be a 3 Letter sequence which must be input in the correct order. On each team there will be 4 players who are given fragments of the code. Only 3 are real one is fake but you wont know which is which. 2 further team members will be given seperate clues about the order of the code. They must work together in the thread to pass this information to the rest of the team. Each day they must choose a leader who will be allowed a guess at the code sequence. First team to correctly input the sequence will win. So far so good. Here is where the treachery begins. There will be a traitorous SPY in each team, whose identity is known to no one. The SPY's role is to disrupt the game and prevent that team from getting the code.
Image
How they do this is up to them, the most obvious way would be to introduce new code fragments, get themselves nomiated leader and input wrong code, make up clues about the order etc. however their actions must be discreet. Too much attention drawn to themselves could lead to their demise. To aid their efforts the SPY will know the code AND its correct order.
As well as voting for leader, a vote muct be made for who they think the traitor is. This person will be shot / hung. If the team correctly find the spy it will demolise the opposition team preventing them having a guess at the code the following day. Team Leaders have final say on hangings and code input. Choose your leader wisely!

If they shoot a person who has a code fragment, that code will be transfered to another active player after a set amount of time (following day). Death posts are strictly forbidden and will be penalised with player deaths or prevention of code guessing. Active players are a must too with at least 1 post per day. All roles / code bearers will be chosen at random

Each day the Teams must decide a leader - President and Premier. This decision must be visible in the thread and confirmed by voting or mutual decision (i need to see that a team has agreed on decision not just 1 player electing himself). The leader will then decide which code to input and who they believe the spy to be, this must be PM'd to myself before 9pm (actual times may vary but I will let you know) At this time I will reveal results in no particular order!

To clarify if a team manages to kill the spy they no longer put people up for nomination!
.

I feel there is potential if we get sufficient numbers.

Let the War begin (soon)....

Soviets post in Red
USA post in Blue
FINAL RULES UPDATE
Ok factions its time for a quick update. The cold War has reached boiling point. Each side senses the coming disaster and is readying a first strike capability. The problem is a safe guard for nuclear missiles is currently in place. The launch codes were fragmented and given to specific people. Time to unite the code and nuke the opposition.

Rumours abound of a spy within each camp, these traitors must be exposed if you are to succeed in your mission. To this end each side will need structure to make decisions. Soviets will elect a Premier each day and the US forces will elect a President. These will be the decision makers, Democracy or Dictatorship is down to the individuals.

Each day the teams will chose a leader and discuss what code guess to try. They will also discuss who they believe the spy to be. The final decision is down to the leader and he will PM me with the decisions. The input computer will confirm if launch is succesful or not at 9pm. Once this has occured the suspected spy will face his punishment. Leaders do not need to confirm this name in the thread, however im sure the team would like a say in who is killed!

The race starts tommorrow. Decisions on leader in thread then PM to me before 9pm. First team to send PM gets firs crack at inputting the code.
The same person cannot be leader 2 days in a row but can be leader as many times as voted into office.

Its similar in style to AYAW, in as much as there is a spy (wolf) amoungst the group. Your challenge is to piece together a code which is split in 3 pieces that are within your team (3 team members are randomly given a piece of that code). The Spy will try to stop you working as a team and will disrupt the team by possibly suggesting fake code pieces etc. In a similar way to AYAW you have to watch posting styles to see who is likely to be the spy. Each day someone is hung (leader chooses, no vote this time though) Ideally you want to kill the spy so you can get the code without disruption. Otherwise you may kill a code carrier! If that happens the code will be reallocated the following day (but you may lose time to the opposing team)

Its a race between the 2 teams, who can work together better, which spy is more disruptive? Can you work together or will suspicion tear the team apart. Each team will start the game with the code! All they need to do is work out who is being honest about the code and what order it goes in.

The Spy roles are crucial here. If they dont disrupt the team then it will be quite easy. Too much disruption though and they may be caught out! IN that respect its similar to AYAW. No special roles though (except those with code pieces).

Im still open to ideas and suggestions. If anyone can spot major flaws let me know. Ideally I need at least 20 players to make a decent go of it. The more the better. I may consider throwing in FAKE code pieces to spice it up a little.

What stops someone just posting their code in the thread? Yes, the spy will also post one but that'll mean there will only be 4 letters to choose from so the leader can just keep on guessing...

1 Guess per day and your right. i will throw in fake code pieces but not tell people if their code is real or not. I will give the SPY the complete code too, to give him an extra advantage in disruption.

There will be 3 real code pieces one fake and then whatever the spy says! Even with the code you need to get the order correct! Should be sufficiently difficult without being impossible. Makes it more important to find the spy quickly!
