Quicksilver – I’m sorry, Pietro Maximoff – will appear in the new movie, Avengers: Age Of Ultron.

Which means that, yes, he will be joining the Avengers in their comic book as well.

Which, yes, will coincide with the end of the comic book he is currently appearing in, All-New X-Factor #19, out in January.

Also Batman Endgame issues are rising up a dollar. $4.99 as the standard begins :dread:

Apparently new female Thor's identity isn't being revealed until well into 2015 :dread: :dread:

Just read through Avengers #1-3, was Ex Nihilo introduced before this series? The stuff with the builders seems intriguing too

He's a new creation of Hickman.

What moment or era would you say was the catalyst for Scott Summers current characterization? For you, what put Scott Summers on the path that led to his fall from grace? (This can be from either an editorial standpoint or in-story or both)

I think going back to the Paul Smith issues, you can start seeing a characterization there -- particularly [Chris] Claremont trying to dig deeper than just vanilla guy, you know what I mean? That's where I remember as a fan reading and going, "Hm. I wonder what's cooking with this guy." I think Jean's death started him on a path, if I may. I think it started to manifest itself during the Paul Smith [issues] slowly, slowly, slowly and I think Jason [Aaron] and [Kieron] Gillen did really interesting work with it, and it's certainly worth pursuing as far as we can pursue it.

Of all the characters, he does seem to be the one where if he went full bad guy, people wouldn't be surprised. If he went full good guy, people wouldn't be surprised. That's what makes him the most interesting character in the X-Men Universe if not the Marvel Universe.

By the way, when we all argue with each other about the X-Men at the retreats, some people want a full-on bad guy, some people want [a full-on good guy]. It's a great conversation.

Image

Scott is going to unlock something about his powers that will be interesting and fun to work with, so that's coming soon, too. We're coming to another chapter in the evolution of their powers, which will be an evolution of character.

Post-AXIS?

Before wrapping up on "Uncanny," "AXIS" is coming down the line -- will it be affecting the work you've been doing on the X-Men?

Well, I said online that there's not going to be any [effect]. But there will be fallout that affects "Uncanny" particularly. At the time I was asked, the ending wasn't locked and I didn't want to commit because at the time, I didn't see anything that I could grab that was -- I've done events and a lot of the fallout, I wanted to do that. It's the best part! I didn't want to be grabby. This is Rick [Remender]'s baby, but he wasn't directly using any of the characters I use, so I was like, "All right. I have so much to do!" But when he locked his ending, there was a couple of things that were offered to me if I wanted them. There was one thing in particular that I said, "That sounds great. I'll do it in a second." The fallout will be visible.

Hopefully it's something containing Beast and Death.

I thought I was the only person reading ANXF. I'm really enjoying it - always been a fan of Peter David since I used to read Spider-Man 2099 as a kid so it's nice to see him back doing X-Factor stuff.

Incidentally, Spider-Man 2099 has gotten off to a good start, so it might be worth checking that out. It's about to be disrupted by Spider-Verse, but we'll see how it goes.

Bleeding Cool are reporting ANXF is ending in January.

I noticed Pietro made a guest appearance in todays Capt issue with loads of other Avengers. Bet he'll be part of Remenders Astonishing Avengers lineup.

Yeah I'm really looking forward to that if that's the plan after Uncanny Avengers, the line-up will be interesting. I wonder if it'll stick with the half X-Men half Avengers theme. Wouldn't be surprised if Remender goes for a more "classic" roster since he loves that stuff.

Wouldn't surprise me with Hickman's run over soon, that Astonishing becomes the "main" Avengers book. With a line up almost identical to the Avengers 2 line up.

Then we'll get different teams like Secret/Mighty etc, but nothing interconnected like Hickman's run on Avengers/New Avengers.

Could these two get any more awesome

I noticed that Snyder said "capullo and I" yet Rich didn't include him in the title

So the first issue of Green Arrow by one of the Arrow writers came out this week. According to spoilers he gets rid of Lemire's supporting cast and brings in Felicity.

DC in a week: "We've given it serious thought but we're leaving the book at 4.99." Good on Snyder and Capullo for trying though.

Humberto Ramos appears to have given away the end of Spider-Verse.

Eagerly awaiting Slott's Twitter reaction to this.

That ending wouldn't surprise me given what a raging feminist Slott is on twitter

I actually don't mind this. It would also be nice if they could bring back Ben Reilly in some form. Spider-Verse is perfect for that. I like Kaine(who I assume will be involved in this, one way or another), but he's not the same.

I wouldn't mind that actual ending, I'm bored to death of same old same old Peter Parker. But the cynic in me feels like it's being done because Marvel, and in particualr Slott on twitter, seem to be on some bloody feminist crusade lately.

All I care about is what happens to Sp-Ock.

Oh yeah and Peter David confirmed today, whilst slagging off Bleeding Cool for getting it wrong, that All New X-Factor is cancelled with issue 20.

 I hope it gets a good conclusion. I guess after almost 300 issues he's told all the stories he can.

It's worth going back and checking out Jason Aaron's run on Ghost Rider. It's like a dirty, grindhouse biker movie.

Read through the second Avengers trade today (Last White Event) another good read, there are a couple of bits that seem a bit confusing at present such as the full extent of what was in the origin bombs and all this "the system is broken" and "the system is online" stuff but I assume this will all be explained in the future trades?

Ex Nihilo's purpose was to seed new life across the universe, the origin bombs were a method of doing that. For Earth Ex Nihilo rejigged the origin bombs in an attempt to make the planet sentient, some of those origin bombs worked as intended, "System online", some did not, "System broken". Broken systems becomes a theme as if you've read New Avengers you'll already know that the multiverse is broken.

Slott a couple of weeks ago, I even mentioned it in here, was basically just hurling abuse at Rich Johnston from Bleeding Cool because some article said he was one of the most influential people in comics and therefore this means he should use his position to make his bosses, Avatar Press, hire more women.

oh and remember the abuse Rich got from people like Brevoort for his story saying Marvel was gona cancel Fantastic Four, purely because of the relationship between Disney/Marvel and Fox. Well now it's been confirmed
