I got this as a pack-in with my Xbox One, but haven't started it yet. I enjoyed the previous two, so I'm fine if it's more of the same to be honest. Good to hear some bugs have been fixed, as I'll move onto it when I'm done with my current play.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider has had its first price cut on the PS Store as part of Deal Of The Week, to £39.99 (down from £54.99!). Deluxe Edition is £48.99. Croft Edition £59.99.

Alternatively Base have cut the disc copy (PS4) to £34.85: https://www.base.com/buy/product/shadow ... strps4.htm

First discounting of many heading into Black Friday and Christmas, no doubt.

Hopefully more shops will follow with the discounts, once it hits £30 I'll get it.
But I bet Black Friday the game will go down to silly money.

There’s no point in buying the new Tomb Raider on release. They have all rapidly dropped in price just after release.

I’ll pick up the new one when it is below £20 – which will probably be in January.

EDGE [4]

Well this has certainly been a marmite Tomb Raider release, but I have a REAL hard time believing the game is that bad.

I'm inclined to agree. I preferred the first 2 TR games to UC1-3 and I can't believe this is that bad.

:o . That's goood going, BOR - and isn't this your second Platinum in quick succession? Was it GTA V that you claimed this for, too?

Cheers.

It’s my fourth one since I finished GTAV. I got Platinums for Shenmue, Spider-Man and this now.

If you have a Smyths nearby, they've got Tomb Raider reduced to sub £30 now. Amazon have priced matched them. This is for Xbox and PS4.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider - £29.99
Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Croft Edition - £39.99

Yep. All of the new Tomb Raider games have crashed in value soon after release, it’s madness to buy them on release.

This is getting negative reviews on Steam; not because it’s bad, but because it’s been discounted so quickly. :fp:

Hey, if you haven’t noticed how quickly video games drop in price these days then that’s on you, pal.

I can kind of see early adopters point of view, but at the same time you're quite right. This is the risk you take buying at launch. If a game underperforms (from a publishers perspective) then chances are it'll be discounted relatively quickly.

Review bombing can be quite effective if a publisher/developer is taking the piss, but I'm not sure this instance qualifies.
