Wasn't much for the last one, but I've always had a tradition of buying a new Tomb Raider at Christmas.

If it's decent I'll buy it, hopefully it'll be better as it won't be held back by cross-gen.

At least Microsoft haven't panic-bought timed exclusivity for this one.

Bought the last one recently in a Steam sale but haven't really been hooked by it. I really enjoyed the first of the origin story games though so I should give it more time.

Feels like they need to find a way to freshen things up though, the last two seem very similar.

They to trim down all the scavenging/collectathon stuff that they had in Rise as it destroys the rhythm and flow of the game. The balance was just right in the 1st.
And they need to sort the writing out, as it was all just completely cringe in the last one. Both, come to think of it.

Still have the first re-boot on my 360 (came with the console) never finished. Just didn't like it at all, although some of the insta-deaths were quite amusing.

There's a short trailer on Facebook, filmed off a cinema screen in France. Appears to be set in the jungle/rainforest.

I've been really disappointed with the new direction the series has gone in. The reboot was a reasonable action/adventure game but pretty generic. Rise was a barrel of bollocks. This new one will need to be a large swing back towards traditional Tomb Raider mechanics to interest me.

Yeah, I agree with that. Outside of the terrible, terrible story and voice work from the 1st one, really enjoyable game. It's sequel, meh, left me feeling cold and I can't put my finger on it. Mildly interested in this so we shall see.

I really loved the reboot and the sequel, both are some of my favourite games on PS4, so will be well up for this.

Isn't Deus Ex developer Montreal making this one instead of Crystal Dynamics?

Seconded.

Although, I'm much preferred the first one though.

I hope having a different developer - the Deus Ex guys - makes it a better game. Give her robo-arms, strawberry float it.

Looks a bit like Underworld, hopefully it’s as good this time.

Is Lara a proficient killer now or does she still make a big deal of having to kill people before mowing down hundreds of foot soldiers? I skipped the last game after the poor reviews

Yup. The first reboot was a cracking yarn but there was something missing from the second.
