“But wait,” you might be thinking. “Isn’t Tomb Raider developed by Crystal Dynamics, a studio in San Francisco?” You would be right—except we hear Eidos Montreal, the large studio behind Thief and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, is helming Lara Croft’s next adventure.

Am I the only one who doesn't like the naming convention because it wrecks grouping the franchise in an alphabetised list? :shifty:

What about somewhere lush and tropical with lots of sun, beaches and waterfalls? Why's it always got to be dark and dingy.

That is one of the great things about Uncharted actually - it has that holiday vibe in lots of exotic locations. I believe Rise starts off that way but it doesn't last very long...and it turned out to be the best part of the game?

What kind of twat works on an unannounced game in a public environment where someone is likely to see what they're doing? That should be part of basic infosec training  :fp:

Yes. Loved both of the new TR games, so much fun.

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

SquareEnix have confirmed a third Tomb Raider game.

twitter.com/tombraider/status/938815473478615040

They say that a new game is coming. 'It won't be very long before the official reveal and when you can play. Our journey will begin with a major event in 2018.'

An announcement of an announcement. What's interesting is that it means the game will likely out next year. As an Uncharted fan I loved the first game, I haven't played the second yet. After the underperforming PS4 sales I suspect this won't be an XBO launch exclusive.

I'm surprised to hear you say that (write that). I think every review I read was positive.

It was a strange one. From what I remember of TR, the gameplay hadn't changed much at all but the setting of Rise wasn't as good and the Assassin's Creed collectathon nature of the game put me off completely. More than anything though, it was the horrendous, insultingly awful story line that made me hate the game. And the character of Lara Croft herself has been dragged through the mud, quite literally, to the point where she's just an incredibly irritating thunder banana split.

Alternatively I loved both TR and RoTR. Both are miles better than Uncharted 1-3.

Film is out next year so if they're smart they'll release alongside it. However that doesn't give them long to finish it.

Wish my image sig would work

I really enjoyed both of the rebooted games. I even went as far as to get 100% on the second one. Although I’d rather they scaled back some of the collectibles in the next one.
