I wouldn't say it's the cause. It probably makes mental illness more of an issue though.

And physical illness too, probably. I spent most of my day yesterday looking at lecture slides, playing videogames and then on my laptop and then watching a load of TV.

Then i had a small bout of tunnel vision. Not fun.
