It takes time. Go to your optician (I'm with Specsavers and they're great - all kinds of special offers on glasses etc when you have contacts with them) and you can book a practice session there (which I'm guessing you're doing on the 4th!)
Basically hold the lens, upside down in the middle, on the tip of your right (if you're right handed) index finger, hold it right up against your eye, tilted slightly and open your eye as wide as you can with your other hand (I use my index finger and thumb), make sure you have a good grip and slowly push it onto your eye. Let go, look around and it should slot right in (I'm sure this paragraph is full of euphemisms.. But meh).
Just take your time. Don't get impatient!! Your eye may go red and if it does, give it a break.

Nah, you should be able to leave 'em in. Depends on how sensitive your eyes are though.

I love my lenses as it's as though I have good vision naturally (I have the monthly ones, which you
don't need to wash every night).
However recently they've been causing me problems, with my eyes flaring up after a couple of days.. Not sure what it is, apparently it's just the hot, humid weather working against my eyes and drying them out.
