Glasses all the way, I don't want to take any risks with my eyes.

I just wear glasses as well and I'm happy enough wearing them. It would be interesting to try contacts but I don't think I could make myself put them in though.

I don't mind wearing glasses, as they (I have two pairs) are the thin, designer frame ones and they look good, but I can't imagine playing sports or going on a night out with glasses on.

Not wearing yours, eh? ;)

I'm so glad my eyes aren't failing yet. Although if my parents are anything to go by, I'll need them for reading by the time I'm 40.

What do you do with them after taking them out if you don't wash them every night?

I leave them in. I get my lenses in packages for 3 months, with 3 pairs of lenses. Obviously that leaves one pair a month, which, in theory, I could leave in for the entire month, but I tend to keep them in for two weeks and then give my eyes a day's rest, by wearing my glasses.

Edit - I do wash them when I take 'em out though, obviously. I have the Peroxide wash, which is good as you don't need to rub them yourself, you plonk 'em in and 6 hours later them are ready.

That's not the way mine worked, are you sure you're not supposed to be taking them out and washing them every night? If you are then you're really mistreating your eyes by leaving them in that long - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contact_le ... plications

Yep, positive. They're called easyvision 'all day - all night' monthly disposable lenses.

Thanks for the concern though! :)

I tried them once but didn't get along with them. It was so wierd being able to see without glasses.

I couldn't get them in. I tried and tried and ended up losing one.

Fair dos! I was just wondering, as why would they give you cleaning fluid for ones you can wear for a month straight?

Anyway, I prefer dailies personally, as if they fall out (happens from time to time if I get a finger in the eye at training), I haven't lost a month's worth of lenses.

I've worn contacts for 7 years; they become very easy after a month or so.

I recommend doing what I've done; going with Specsavers or whoever for a year (mine was £13 a month), stock up on your liquids and cases (you don't need a litre of it a month) and get your free eye exams, discount glasses etc. Then go on the Internet and order the direct from the supplier for about £5.50.

Contact lenses scare me. Never tried them, but the idea of touching your eye, and putting something on it... BRR.

I'll stick with my glasses. That i don't wear.

Contact lenses are easy. Get monthlies though as you will want to wear them all the time.

Surely if you want to wear them all the time dailies are much better, so much more convenient.

I've been wearing dailies for 3 months now, I have ok eyesight but I needed to wear glasses for driving and I decided I'd prefer to get contacts and have perfect vision all the time. I found them really awkward to begin with but honestly now they're second nature and the best thing I ever decided to get :D

I usually balance the lense on the little finger of my right hand, pull down my lower eyelid with the middle finger of my right and pull up the upper eyelid with the index finger of my left hand. Then just pop it in.

I have always (somehow) managed to take out my lenses after a night on the booze. If you build it into your night-time routine you shouldn't have any trouble remembering. Even if I do forget, I'll normally remember by the time I get into bed because my digital clock will be in sharp forcus, rather than all blurry.

I do that all the time. I have on a few occasions been so drunk and confused (the next morning) that I think I I've left them in, but I never have done.

Oh, and I'm a dailies man.

Dailies you can only normally wear for 12 hours a day, where as monthlies I can wear mine for as long as I want and even sleep in them. Oh and they are a lot cheaper than dailies as well.

Monthlies are absolutely fine. Dailies just seems like a massive waste of material to me...
