Yeah, you should take them out, or you shouldn't wear them the next day; your eyes will feel very dry.

It isn't difficult, I've never had a problem. Only slept with them in twice, once I wasn't drunk at all just totally forgot!

I can wear my contacts all day (they say 18 hours max...). Pay £12 a month from Specsavers for everything, so not bad.

Did have an eye infection once though, but I was just a little unfortunate, took about 2-3 weeks to clear up before I could wear contacts again.

And, I've just lugged my contacts all the round Scandinavia for 4 weeks and it was fine; wore them most days (that I was sure I'd be sleeping in a bed and not a train anyway).

PS: Yes, it's me, I'm back  !

Nice to see you here Colin, what took you so long?

Do you use dailies?

I have needed glasses for the last 20 years, as I can't see anything further than 5ft away with my left eye, my right eye is fine though.

Could I get a single contact lens instead of a pair? Would I be better off with a monocle? Or should I just turn a blind eye to it all?

Been using them for 13 years now.

At first it was odd, but after a couple of days it just felt natural.

I'm on 2 weekly change over ones....apparently they're OK to sleep in but I've never done it and the eye expert bloke said "NO".

I've no problem touching my eye.

Mention it to your optician, I don't see any reason why you can't. Having said that though, I don't know your prescription, so you may have something that automatically precludes you from wearng contacts. I think astigmatism used to be a bit of a problem for example, but I think there are ways round that now. Like I say, speak to your optician, as they'll know more about the current state of optometry than me.

If you can afford a few quid extra each month why not try the continuous wear lenses? I keep mine in for 4 or 5 days before taking them out for a nights rest. Beats fiddling around each morning and night and they don't dry out as easily too.
1st post in the new forum btw! :)

Um, sorry if it's been mentioned before but how much are contact lenses, and where do you get them from? Do you get different lenses for short-sighted and long-sighted?

Obviously the lens power is exactly what you need to see properly....

I get them from specsavers, £12 a month, wear them each day for a month, I can wear them 18 hours a day.

You can pay £10 a month and have lenses which you can only wear 12 hours a day.

I've just picked up my new glasses today.

And within the first hour I thought something was wrong.
My right eye (My stronger of the two) was very blurry past a distance of 4metres, and it feels as though I'm looking through a fisheye lens.

I went back to the shop, and they palmed me off with an excuse that my eyes just have to get used to the new prescription, even though it's barely changed in the last 3 years.
I don't see any signs of improvement since wearing them since 9am... so I think someone strawberry floated up, the optician who did the eye test, or the lab.

But the worst thing is, my right eye was absolutely fine with the lens strength that I had before, and now it's completely borked. It didn't need changing.

So, seeing as I spent £165 on these glasses, I don't want to just have to "put up" with these faults. Do I have any rights to a refund or replacement?
