I think an hour of journey time in ETS2 was about 15 minutes of real time?

It's a pretty good balance.

The game has been release on steam for £15.

It has two trucks, Peterbilt and the Kenworth and is also restricted to California and Nevada initially.

Is this actually any good? As in is it a legit decent game or is more the random-factor of it?

Euro truck / American truck is great. It's a really solid simulator and it is fun in a relaxing, don't give a strawberry float way.

I am having a good time with it. Listen to some trance while driving around trying not to ram some strawberry floater at 80mph as I go round a tight turn.

I played ETS2 once. Spent 15 minutes trying to attach the trailer and reverse out of the yard, then I jumped a light, drove as fast as I could down a road for a few minutes, tried to cut a corner by going off road across a field, then careered into the underside of a motorway junction bridge and got the trailer stuck.

I'm not sure what being set in America can do to change this experience

You do all that while eating a simulated burger.

I somehow managed to mount a car under my trailer in a petrol station and couldn't move.

I stuck with it though.

I really don't know, but I took a screenshot so I'll try to find it. :)

I've also rolled my trailer which was nice.

Honestly, it's the strawberry float ups that help make ETS2 fun. I wound up barrelling down the wrong side of a dual carriageway in the middle of pouring rain once. Knew I was strawberry floating up, but reversing back up wasn't an option because of the trailer, the central reservation had one of those concrete barriers so I couldn't cut across the middle. Had to go up the nearest off ramp in the end.

Unfortunately that off ramp was several miles away, so there was nothing for it but to brazen it out and wander down the wrong side of the dual carriageway to fix this appalling cock-up.

I've been there too. It's just too tight or slow to turn back so you run with it. Cue thousands in fines.

The manager at "Bank" will not be happy.
