I just thought there would be of a reaction to the CMO saying that.

Just had a look at that, but there didn't appear to be an option for 'i'm pretty sure i've had coronavirus (but wasn't tested) but am feeling better now'

This makes my blood strawberry floating boil. Telecoms staff being threatened now in increasing numbers because some absolute melters still think 5g is causing covid, the same network they post inane and stupid gooseberry fool to their equally thick friends. How can you genuinely believe this stupid bollocks?

It's going to be needed until there is a vaccine, that was obvious the second the virus was shown to be so unbelievably easy to spread and how dangerous it is.

If we release lockdown and especially if kids go back to schools (where are they going to get teachers?) and big cities open again alongside businesses, thousands upon thousands more people are going to die. I realise they're going to want to hint that lockdown could be removed, but I genuinely don't see a realistic way to do it without sacrificing thousands of lives.

I'm not debating the need. When I saw the news last night I assumed it would blow up and be all social media but I haven't seen a single mention of it.

So in addition to the clapping at 8pm tonight, there's also this on BBC1:

Children in Need and Comic Relief BIG NIGHT IN brought to you in association with McDonald's and Sainsbury's

Image

Tonight, Comic Relief and BBC Children in Need will host an unforgettable evening of entertainment to raise money for people in the UK who need it most. Donations will help those struggling with mental health, provide essentials like food and shelter to those in crisis, and connect people at risk with vital services that will keep them safe from harm.

Tune in tonight from 7pm to help raise money and lift the nation's spirits. And please, donate what you can.

GET THE FAMILY INVOLVED!
Stick posters in your windows, string up printable bunting and make flags, badges, coasters and more. Just be sure to show the world you're part of the Big Night In!

When it rains, it pours.

I don't think we're opening up properly again until next year. Maybe you could get away with it in the summer but then corona will come back (along with the flu) in the autumn.

Germany is opening now because they've been really good at testing and contact tracing so some areas have had no new infections for weeks. UK which was previously ranked at 2nd in the world for pandemic preparedness has had a shambolic political response.

Bunting ... Bunting... strawberry floating bunting.

People are dying. NHS staff don't have PPE, people losing their jobs, huge amounts of debt and th mental health of a nation seriously damaged.

How do we respond. Bunting, bunting is for celebrating. What shall we celebrate, lockdown? Only 20k dead? The fact B and Q has re opened.

Pure distraction. Do something pointless like laugh at Catherine Tate and remember how she used to say Bovvred. Don't question, don't think, follow.

It's like They Live but a shitty version. They Live but filmed on the set of Pebble Mill.

Wish my image sig would work

What do you suggest the general public does instead? We can't all be edgy.

UNITE THE NATION!!!!

I had my pension statement through today. Despite the 20%+ of my salary I pay in every month, it now looks like a strawberry floating joke of a figure for the final prediction. Thanks COVID!

Funeral staff should have just turned around, shouted 'bury the old bag yourself, then', got in the hearse, fired the coffin out the back, and sped off. It's what I would have done!
