And it's all over!

The funding stands at £21,068... which means that the stretch goal of "C64 graphics mode" was hit :toot: .

Once again, congrats to Starquake and the Huey Team! It's gonna be exciting to see Hyper Sentinel complete development and then hear the reactions of the fans :D .

You just woke up to a world where that is going to happen! 8-)

Massive thanks to all the support and good wishes from the lovely folk at Grcade. Can't wait to get the final game boxed and in your hands.

Hurrah! :toot:

I've picked up a copy... and there is the mighty Starquake's face in the mag! Massive bonus points for a Portal cube and a C64 lurking in the background :o  . It's great to get that kind of publicity for the game; hopefully it will boost awareness and get people keen to try it out.

'Quake, I noted that one reader suggested a Paradroid homage as a future project...

I've not even picked up my copy yet. The missus was supposed to grab it from WH Smiths yesterday, but she forgot :|

Will pop into town tomorrow to grab one though. I think my Samus and AT-ST model were just out of shot too :D

I have some designs down for the next game. 100% focused on this right now though :-)

Hi all. Glad you got the news! :toot:

I'm over the moon to be bringing the game to Switch - I think it's a perfect fit actually. It's was very exciting to sign stuff from Nintendo to become an official developer, especially since I'm a big Nintendo fan from way back.

Nintendo have supported us for this brilliantly as well, so bravo to them for helping make this happen so quickly.

Dev wise things are going very well, with everything so far on track to meet our various deadlines. It's been a lot of hard work, and still much hard work that needs to be done, but the package is starting to come together well.

Thanks for the support as ever!

Nice one Starquake and good to hear that Nintendo helped so much.

Not sure if you can answer this but just wondering, after hearing a lot of details that the Switch is actually very easy to port to and develop for i was wondering if you agree. Was it an easy platform to port over to compared to others. So many developers have said it is and this could well be a great platform for easy porting and releasing of many more indie games.

Huey Games handle most of the contact with the platform holders, but their feedback to me was very positive of how Nintendo have helped. Hopefully they should be officially tweeting and putting the game on their YouTube feed soon to. It's worth mentioning that Microsoft have been very supportive too, as have many of the other platform holders - such as Nvidia, Amazon etc. But from what I see, Nintendo are doing the right things.

As far as dev goes. I'm using the Unity engine, and they have very quickly got support in for Switch, which bodes very well for Indie studios and devs. From that point of view it really isn't any more work to get the game up and running. Of course there will be platform specific functions, which we aren't quite up to yet - and John from Huey Games will handle most of that, so I can't really comment on that part.

Honestly in this day and age there shouldn't be any reason why new games can't be as easy to develop for on Switch as any other platform. Porting older games on bespoke engines might be harder - I don't really know.

Back to Switch, i can see it being a great machine for indies - taking over from the Vita. The benefit the Switch has over Vita is the way it can dock and be a traditional console too.

It would be nice if Nintendo offered dev kits to devs for free - as do other platform holders.

Cheers for the info Starquake, it's good to see the switch is easy to work on. I heard the Wii U was a bit of a pain and the switch would be dead easy to smaller development teams could port and bring games to the market easier and it looks like its true.

Looks great - will be picking up for the Switch on release.

If Limited Run Games do start doing Switch games this might be a great fit.
