In all seriousness I haven't seen enough football from both of them to make a decision. I don't tend to watch la liga really. I get the impression though that messi is possibly more consistent at producing amazing performances. I could be wrong. Their club stats are amazingly similar, with any difference open to arguments about the quality and service of teammates and style of play at their clubs.

Messi. To contribute so many assists alongside the amount of goals he scores, with how effortless and easy he often makes it look marks him out as the greatest player I've ever seen.

Ronaldo is fantastic though. Just must curse his luck at playing at the same time as Messi.

Messi. Obviously.

That's not a hard decision at all

Voted Messi but you have to admire the amount of hard work Ronaldo puts in to compete for best in the world, guy looked like a strawberry floating greek god when he tooks his shirt off in the champions league final.

I think with Messi he's just naturally the best. Ronaldo has put in the hard work to be as good as he is. (Not saying Messi hasn't worked hard though, just Ronaldo wants to be the best, Messi just is)

Messi for me. Someone said the other day, you cant separate the two on footballing ability. What pushes it in Messis favour for me, Is his attitude. Rarely moans or has a strop with team mates.

Both will go down as two of the greatest players of all time but like Finiarel says, Messi has the better attitude, more of a sportsman etc.

Ronaldo acts like an 8 year old at times. It's rather embarrassing.

I think that is harsh.

Messi has had arguments with Ibrahimovic, Villa, Fabregas, Sanchez, Tello and Pedro on the pitch. He even sent a text crying to Pep about ibrahimovic. This notion that Messi doesn't throw strops at his teammates need to go away. That is why I'm surprised Barca are after Suarez. Both there egos won't be play to co-exist and they play the same position.

I forgot to include Eto, but he argues with everyone. People make out Messi is a saint and never argues with refs or dives. He does both quite a bit too.

I just hate it when people try to make out Messi is some sort of Saint. He behaves similar to Ronaldo, just less vocal about it.

I think Ronaldo has been better over the last couple of seasons. Coincidentally when Barcelona have been declining. Before then i'd have said Messi. Now i think the distance between them is less.
