I really don't see it. Tempah isn't chavvy at all. Is it because it's new, commercial and (will be) in the charts?

Woteva babes, it's a bare choon.

As Scott Mills said a while back - he makes great pop songs.

Just had my annual splurge on albums. I am ridiculously out of the loop on new music, bar what drips through on Absolut Radio and the mainstream press.

Anyway, I got:

Florence and the Machine - Lungs (been after this for a while, as I've liked the four or five songs that get radio airplay)
Arcade Fire - The Suburbs (Funeral was great; I don't think I listened to Neon Bible)
The XX - The XX (bought purely on the back of them getting the Mercury Prize)
Midlife - Blur (I've liked Blur since the 90s and have recently got back into them, yet amazing don't own any of their stuff)

And...

The Beatles - Help (these are ones to watch, trust me)

I sound so much like an old man! I haven't really bought albums consistently since the mid-2000s and now I mainly stick to YouTube-ing songs or using Spotify.

Cost me about £30 in total.

Starting with The Suburbs now.

Anybody else listening to HURTS? I should hate it, as it's almost boy band sounding at times and Kylie Minogue guest on one of the tracks....

But it's got something stupidly 80's pop synthy about it which sounds great.

Tinie Tempah's coming to Loughborough in a few weeks, and I think I'll go. Bit of a guilty pleasure of mine (as is Jason Derulo  ).

This has seriously reminded me of how much simpler I want their next album and tour to sound. I thought they went just enough over the top in BH&R era, but somehow I've found The Resistance all too much (The tour moreso the album).

I actually don't get why TT should be a guilty pleasure. Derulo maybe as he's a bit... Jason Derulo! and all that. But they both produce consistently catchy pop songs.

I want the next album to have more epic tracks like Hysteria, Citizen Erased, The Small Print, etc. Only really MK Ultra satisfies that for me on the current album.

I agree about BH&R too. It was a bit... Messy.
