Started playing ODST this afternoon. I'm not very far in yet but I'm really enjoying this night-time city setting with all the discarded cars and flashing neon lights. The only other Halo games I've played through are 1 and 3 and this is a really cool change in setting.

Trials HD. I'm distinctly late to the party with this one, but it is fantastic. Genuinely better than Trials 2.

Don't know why they won't put these things on PC but I don't particularly care. I'll be buying the next one the day it comes out.

I'm on the Medium tracks and getting gold is already pretty tough. The Hard and Extreme ones will probably make me cry.

Just finished Syndicate. Much to my surprise, (and as far removed from the original it is), I rather enjoyed it.

Just begun FryCry 2. Cannot believe I only paid £2.98 for this, it's quality.

Just finished MGS2. That's ending is even worse than I remember, what a mess. Brought me back to 10 years ago when I finished it, just staring at the screen trying to get my head round what had actually happened. Still don't really understand it, but enjoyable as it is.

The much superior MGS3 is next. Like a (big) boss...

I've posted this before but it's worth watching. Gets particularly interesting in part 2. In fact, just skip straight to part 2. Part 1 is what you probably understand yourself already (the AI are claiming to be good guys, they're trying to construct a George Orwell style planet with humanity's best interests at heart, the Big Shell incident was a test to gather more data on this).

tldw; the inline spoiler above.

tldw; most profound moment in gaming.

ODST is brilliant. It doesn't get enough praise if you ask me, what with it being the joint best Halo campaign with Reach.

What am I reading? Reach's campaign wasn't the best at anything.

It goes: Original Trilogy > ODST > Reach.

Reach is genuinely the best Halo campaign.

Only a nutter doesn't think that Halo 2 has the worst campaign by an absolute mile.

For me...CE > ODST > Reach > 3 >>>>> 2

CE's campaign is probably the worst. Most nostalgic and most innovative for it's time but it doesn't hold up well at all. Reach pisses all over it.

Must admit I'm not particularly enjoying going through Halo Anniversary at the moment. The levels seem very dated now and the repetition is much more obvious 10 years on. Finding it a bit of a chore.

Tru dat. It's got the best bits of all the previous games, with very few of their weaknesses. It's also the most mature of the series without a doubt; the handling of genocide and the eventual decimation of your squad is done almost flawlessly.

Complete nonsense, like 3 the levels in Reach are all too focused for the games own good. The best thing about CE are the levels where it seems like you can go anywhere at all. Theres nothing like that in Reach.

By far the best Halo game in my opinion. Best soundtrack and story too, plus the atmosphere during the night sections is brilliant. No bullshit like the Flood ruining the game either.

ODST is good but hardly in the same league as Combat Evolved or Reach.

Can't believe people thought the campaign in Reach was one of the best. The characters were SO boring. Just an army of bland, generic cliches that were so dull it was hard to feel anything for their inevitable deaths. Especially the woman in blue armour. Christ, she was abysmal. The sooner the butch lesbian marine stereotype goes out of fashion the better. And that flying level :|

I also only rank 2 in the original trilogy umbrella because it's the stories carry on. Tartarus :fp:

CE has strawberry floating abysmal level design and you replay a third of the game by going through it again backwards! And it has the Flood.
