Complete nonsense, like 3 the levels in Reach are all too focused for the games own good. The best thing about CE are the levels where it seems like you can go anywhere at all. Theres nothing like that in Reach.

CE has strawberry floating abysmal level design and you replay a third of the game by going through it again backwards! And it has the Flood.

The Library  :fp:

343 Guilty Spark! :fp:

The Library is like a Horde mode without the points Image

Only noticed playing it through in CE how chuffing boring it was. Liked how they'd added the glowing arrow signposts on the floor in the remastered version, too.

Thats tosh.

The best levels in CE are better than all of the levels put together in Reach or 3. Library or no Library, CE is just better.

Reach is probably my favourite of the Halos, followed by ODST. I did care when everyone is Reach got merk'd.

Reach created a really interesting world around the action too. The other Halos, ODST being the exception, were just like moving from one battlefield to the next. Plus, Reach had strawberry floating ostriches!

I too cared apart from Kat, and also the way they killed her was totally stupid. You can take Needler bullets all day long but all of a sudden one takes out a bloody Spartan.

They're all utterly forgettable games about a jumping spaceman.

You can stop arguing about it now.

Half Life: Opposing Force

Just played it for about an hour or so and am apparently already 1/4 of the way through it, so it's clearly really short. Again i'm taking screenshots of it while I play which you can check out here. Although I know it was made by Gearbox, it surprisingly feels different too. The weapons don't seem as accurate (as far anyway) and it seems a lot more straight forward so far. Loving the Wrench/Dagger combo rather than the Crowbar too in all honesty. Although the night vision rather than a flashlight is gooseberry fool.

Also, why the hell don't these games have subtitles?

Just to pint out the amount of reusage of levels in CE

Pillar of autumn - reused as The maw
Truth and reconciliation - reused as Keyes
Assault on the control room - reused as two betrayals, also reused over 9000 times as AOTCR as that level is just the same room and bridge over and over again anyway
The library - reused as the library and eventually segues into AOTCR strawberry floating AGAIN

The level design in CE is strawberry floating abysmal. People only rave about silent cartographer because its one of a handful of levels in the game that isnt just a bunch of reused assets copied and pasted over and over.

It's the best level of the entire franchise, too.

Playing more of Dead Rising 2. Despite Off The Record is superior game, Chuck Greene is just miles better and the story canon wise is really good. I'm just working on getting all achievements from it before I start 360 version of Dead Rising 2 Off The Record; mainly because my mate wants to play that.

I love Dead Rising so much. Although it does take me while until it finally *clicks*.

I only played CE for the first time recently and while I'm sure ten years ago it would blow minds there are definitely parts that don't hold up today. The Library and Assault on the Control Room levels are abominations but there's still some great stuff in there

The reason why the first Halo's single player was so good is it was a different experience all together. Halo 2 captured this too but I think Halo 3 was when the formula got a bit stale. I've not got to play Reach though yet so I can't say how good that is.

ODST was quite good as it was unlike anything the Halo series had done before.

Half Life: Opposing Force

I've just met these two dudes and turned it off, and i've been told that they're going to be sticking about for a while which I suppose is good. Always nice to have company when everyone else thinks you're there to murder them or have left you.

I love in opposing force when you encounter things that you saw in Half-Life but from the military perspective.

So far, I might actually be enjoying it more than Half Life. At least finding it funnier anyway. This, this, and this in particular!

Things seem to be happening a lot quicker in this too, like the guy who gives the warning in Half Life about your last missile targets (This bit) I saw in Chapter 3 or so in Opposing Force. I got a screenshot of that too, but it's hardly worth showing.
