Played about an hour or so of Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon last night. Seems like a fairly functional FPS but nothing really stood out in the time I spent with it. I'll play a bit more today and see how it goes.

Pokémon Emerald at the moment.

Wanted to play Emerald all way to Elite Four (plus maybe all secrets), and since Omega Ruby is in few months may as well start it properly. Only got two Pokémon so far in party, I didn't want spend ages trying to catch everything - would rather keep that for Omega Ruby tbh.

Demon's Souls

Still early on, but having a lot of fun with this. Got frustrated by dying so much at first, but then realised I'll just have to get used to it, and it just means that each step forwards in the game is even more rewarding. I'm in the second...errr...Archstone place. I've just turned a lever which has caused water to extinguish the flames in a previously inaccessible area. Enjoying the combat mechanics, though I hope to be able to dabble with some magic and more interesting equipment soon.

Yeah I can definitely see that incentive, I just don't have the desire to explore Fallout 3's world like I did, say, Skyrim's, and see everything out there. Maybe I would've done if I hadn't ploughed so much time into Skyrim - the thought of doing something similar again doesn't appeal.

Stuck a couple of hours into Dishonoured before finally proclaiming 'strawberry float this gooseberry fool' and putting it back in the case. Trial-and-error gaming is not for me, ta. Followed it up with a long-postponed stab at L.A.Noire and, fair play, I quite like it (for a while I was starting to think that I just didn't enjoy gaming anymore as I couldn't get on with the Uncharted games or the Last of Us, and thought that Tomb Raider was dull). The main character is a bit of an unlikeable knob but the facial animation really adds to the character of the, erm, characters. However, the questioning part of the game seems totally random, unless I'm missing something. Good job it seems to have fuck-all impact on the outcome...

Finished DanganRonpa 2 this evening, it's a better game than the first but I think I preferred the original, only slightly. I'm really hoping we get the spin-off game and a third in the series.. I've heard there is a prequel novel but seems to be in Japanese only.

Is Persona 4 a good game to follow DanganRonpa? I want something with a similar feel, big group of characters going through some bizarre and twisted mystery.

THE LAST OF US (PS4)

I'm still plugging away at this at the moment. I can see why many voted this game of last gen, its had me hooked since the very beginning and i've not reached a section yet where I think "ugh this is a bit crap"

My game of 2014 so far

Dues Ex : Human Revolution
Not bad, but the boss fights are so, so bad. I think I'm near the end because I just did one of the most annoying boss fights ever. It gave me a strawberry floating migraine.

I'm playing through Super Mario Sunshine with my son. It was never my favourite Mario game, but I don't remember it being this bad. I'm quite astonished.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

Camera & Yoshi control have always been atrocious, but I have a soft spot for it. What do you find so bad about it?

After seeing a couple of GRcadians mention it in this thread, I'm back into Fallout 3 on the Xbox 360. I've started a new game and... man... I'd forgotten just how good this is. Walking out of the vault and being free to wander the wastelands never fails to be an astounding moment.

Time has slightly dulled the graphics and accentuated the clunkiness of some aspects but I still love the character of the game. The environments are just vast. Six years on and there are still few titles* that can match the scale and ambition of the game.

It feels good to be back into the best game ever :-).

* I haven't played Skyrim yet...

I had the same experience lately (minus the son, that is). Couldn't get used to the controls at all. And I knew the camera was bad, but that it was this... unpredictable. Can't believe I played it through to the end. I do remember enjoying the last level and final boss fight though.

I thought it was a really average game and I didn't get the love for it either. I was disappointed by it and Wind Waker.

My issue with it is that to me, it just doesn't feel like a mario game. It feels like a game where they changed the character to sell a game which wouldn't have sold very well otherwise. The 3d equivalent of SMB2 if you will.

I'd still love to play it again (I've still got it) but it would have to wait if mario 64 comes out on Wii u VC.

Killzone Shadow Fall now has a massive new lease of life. The latest patch (1.50) has unblocked Challenge Progression when playing in the Botzone. This means that for those like me who don't play against real online players, the career option is now feasible when playing against bots and we'll get all the unlocks, challenges, weapon upgrades and ranking as if we were. This was not previously the case. This is a fantastic development and one for which I've waited for. The game is now almost exactly as I would have always wanted it to be. Unfortunately online collectibles are not unlocked in this mode, but apart from that the whole experience has been massively improved for Botzone players.

This game is now - bar none - the single best player vs bots game available. The Botzone is endlessly re-configurable, meaning players can set up games just the way they want with any number of permutations and customisation - and be now be able to earn all the rewards previously only available to 'true' online players.

Brilliant stuff! Still can't quite believe the devs did this.

Hotline Miami on PS4. It suddenly clicked with me in a big way. Once you learn to be less hesitant, it rules. Lovely stuff.

Had an extended play at the weekend though and found the music, graphics, tone, was taking me to quite a dark place. :shifty:

I've been playing good amount of Sims 4, it's better than I thought although it was kinda impulse buy after seeing positive things from /r/thesims... that and SimplyCDkeys sells it for £27ish so... I really like how the multitasking seems better, socialising between the Sims feels more easier whereabouts it was kinda awkward in last few games. Has some problems but I do love how it loads fairly quick (more so than Sims 3 anyway!), plays smoother (apart from one or two hard crashes) and the UI system is better as it wasn't bloated mess.

Wonder what game I want to play alongside it though, considering I've platinum'd first danganronpa and don't want to go through it on Danganronpa 2 again yet so might go back on Emerald or something.

METRO 2033 REDUX - PS4

Got to chapter 4 so far, I briefly played the X360 version back when it come out but it never clicked with me...the new redux version is much better imo. Graphically it looks great and the atmosphere really hits you especially when going through the tunnels. Glad I decided to give this another try

Its all about destiny and yakuza 4 at the moment! Ones a great single player game to get into and the others a brilliant online shooter.

Nice to be actually playing on my ps4, which will probably take centre stage once fifa 15 and driveclub are out.

Would love to get through a few ps3 games over the next year or so like far cry 3, okami hd, ico hd, mgs peace walker and god of war 2 hd! Quite a few! There's also majoras mask on the wii i need to play and complete, but may leave that one for christmas now.
