I'm really trying to see what all the fuss is about when it comes to Platinum Games. I despised Bayonetta but I thought I'd give Vanquish a go and give them a second chance - so far it's decent but nothing particularly special. Only done an hour though, plenty of room for the awesome to kick in!
But why the QTE rubbish? Nobody likes QTEs...

I struggled to understand why Vanquish got so much praise too. Really enjoyed Bayonetta though. Which could partially be down to the fact I fancied the main character.

Vanquish really comes into its own on Hard. It was so much fun and a considerable challenge.

That first boss fight as fat sonic :fp: He just kept rolling off the arm rather than running up it  Apart from that though, I'm impressed. The modern Sonic levels seem to be a lot less "push forwards and hope for the best", which is nice.

Think the whole complete-three-challenges-to-continue! idea is a bit naff, mind you. That "spinning top" one against Amy :x

I've had gooseberry fools that were more entertaining than any of Sonic Generations' bosses.

A blight on an otherwise almost awesome package.

You're not wrong there. Just spent about 15 minutes trying to do that stupid Shadow race. Spend the entire thing boosting, run out of boost power and he nips past and grabs the "core". Why in God's name can he attack me without a core anyway? It makes the entire purpose of this stupid race redundant.

That, coupled with the stupid challenges utterly ruins what could have been the best 3D Sonic game since Adventure.

strawberry float off, Sonic. You've blown your last chance.

Its a pretty simple game. I take it you aren't talking about the DX version.

Chain power pills and ghosts together for the biggest scores. When you go for the power pills if possible take out the ordinary ones, so you can get the next power pills without getting powered down, scoring is all about working out ways to do this as much as possible.

If you are having trouble I'm pretty sure you can watch replays of people on the highscore boards, you won't be as good as them, but it'll give you ideas about where you might be going wrong.

Ive given Skyrim a rest..as I dont want it to end :shifty:

So MW3 SP...its just mental  No idea what is going on half the time
Saints Row 3 - exactly like the 2nd one
Halo - more difficult than I remember, maybe I've been softened up by how easy games have become recently, hence why Ive ordered Dark Souls..to get me back in shape.

I'm playing the MW3 singleplayer as well. I think it's a shame that most of us are numbed to this sort of thing now - it thinks it's a blockbuster, spectacular 5 hour thrill ride, but the truth is that it's so bloody dull.

I actually kind of enjoy it. A nonsense ride..the presentation (as in the scenes between missions) could be out of Mi5 for all we know. I only paid £3 for it so I dont mind. Looking forward to playing the spec ops with my mates on sunday

It's not terrible by any stretch, but it's doing literally nothing new to the 1st MW...what, 4 years ago now?
It's got no soul, is my main complaint. Y'know, the entire world is at war and I could not give one strawberry float.

I know what you mean, all 3 have followed the exact same template..I just can't help but get sucked in by these kinds of things. I dont really care the worlds falling to gooseberry fool, but I do like Price and soap if only because of playing them in all 3 MW games

I've been playing WarioWare on the 3DS and BulletStorm on the PC. Both are absolutely brilliant. I can't help but have immense fun on BS whenever they actually let me play.

Dungeons of Dredmor - It's a bit on the difficult side, the randomly generated dungeons combined with permadeath has resulted in some spectacular failures in my first few attempts.

I think I might have to switch off the permadeath option.
